Decal help needed - what does this one say?

Recommended Posts

wheeledhorseman

I'm trying to identify what this little decal is supposed to say.

gallery_4509_115_30051.jpg

It's on a 1974 A-800 Ranger that I'm about to restore and refers to the postions of the lever that engages / disengages the cutting deck.

Anyone got a clearer example or knows / can remember what it says?

Thanks

Andy

Thought I'd try and be smart Andy and check Terry's (Vinylguy52) Site to see if it was on his A800 Repros........It isn't,....... so If you find out, he may want to know also.

Edit- Is there a User Manual that may have a picture of it??.

2nd Edit - Listed as Decal Prt nbr 103442 ON/OFF. Regards

Thanks for the thought Richard but Terry hasn't got it and Toro appear to have lost most of the stuff for the A-800 on their site. I'll try and track down a manual but keep the thoughts coming in guys - unless somebody has an example on their machine or I can find a manual I'll have to go with a majority decision.

Wow Richard - that was quick so thought I'd try the EDIT feature myself.

My feeling was that it was Off and On but it's best not to put an idea into people's heads when asking the question.

All I need to do now is to measure it accurately so the decal set can be complete on both sides of the pond.

Hopefully someone will post a better image of this soon.

I will ad it to the A-800 kit. It looks so familiar but I dont have access to my

backup drive at home so will search tomorrow. Can you post the dimensions

I made this proto from the image you posted. Just my best guess though

That's pretty good guesswork from a poor photo but it's much smaller than your's or meadowfield's dimensions. The A-800 is quite small compared with the C series tractors.

The Decal is actually just 2 5/8" long by 1/2" wide. I guess the larger dimensions above are for a similar decal on a larger tractor.

Please excuse the fact that this is not to scale but I don't have access to a decent bit of drawing software. You'll get the idea though.

gallery_4509_115_4746.jpg

Red outside border 1/16th"

White line thickness 1/16th

Larger rectangle (centre to centre of the white lines) 1 3/8"

Smaller rectangle (ditto) 1"

I think it all adds up to the main dimensions. Looks a bit odd in my diagram but not to scale and I got the lower rectangle too small which is why the 'OFF' doesn't fit..

Ah, decimal inches...... (gets desktop calculator out)

Yes that's it folks. I don't think the decal on the tractor could have shrunk much as everything came out in standard imperial measurements. The missing decal from the A-800 set on both sides of the pond.

Haven't found any others .....yet. I'll let you know.

I will adjust the colors and ad it to the A-800 kit soon. I have only made 2 or three A-800 kits over the years.
