Picked up a few Wheel Horses and have Q's!

Recommended Posts

WheelHorse50

Well I went for a roadtrip today to pick up a few Wheel horses to add to my growing herd. The first one was a 1965 WH 875. It appears because of the chrome strip and the chrome plates on the hood that this must have been a special edition for some reason. If anybody knows anything about that please let me know. I also noticed on the 875 that there was a decal with checkered flags saying Powered By Kohler. Just an idea. Thanks for any replies in advance!

The second one I picked up was an 857. I didn't notice anything special about it just the big headlights :grin:post-5655-0-15340000-1354503009.jpg

Both appear to have been altered or customized by a previous owner.

The chrome is not factory, the steering wheel on the 875 is for a later tractor, and the plow on it or under it looks to be a modified suburban plow from the early 60's, also not for that tractor, I don't see the Kohler decal, both look like good starts.

i believe the decal with checkered flags :auto-checkeredflag: was for the 500 special or one of those :eusa-think:

nice pair saved from possibly going to scrap

TT

The checkered flag Kohler decal was associated with snowmobile engines.

I saw those tractors on Craigslist and hope you didn't pay what they were asking for them. :disgust:

Nice wheelhorses you got there! Make them in running condition and keep the weathered look, it would look cool on a show next to one that is restored!
