One of the things that has always intrigued me, was the evolution of a band. In this case take Starship, then Jefferson Starship, then Jefferson Airplane and before that they were Grace Slick and the Great Society...check out this classic from the first group...

and then the Jefferson Airplane version.

Thanks for sharing those, Steve. As many times as I've listened to the many Airplane versions of that song, I think I've probably heard the Great Society version maybe only once or twice. And in my entire life, I've NEVER been flipped off by Grace until just now. Cool!

There's also a great live version of "Somebody to Love" (probably my favorite) on the Airplane's "Bless Its Pointed Little Head" album.

Which reminds me, Jorma's doing an acoustic show at an extremely local theatre in September, time to make some phone calls...
