Also, I wanted to let you know that I started subscribing to LAGT last December and both my dad and myself absolutely LOVE the magazine. It is packed full with awesome material in every issue. Thanks for posting this. Is it possible to get higher resolution images? I'd like to find as much info as I can on the Jeep Trac. I noticed it's spelled two ways also and a search didn't find any reference on the web other than your article.

AMC/Jeep made such a great product, too bad their upper management sucked so bad.

Can you imagine how many of us would be retoring these little Jeeptrac's now?

I mean... :wh:'s are very cool as is, but incorporating Jeep's design cue's into our beloved little tractors would have certainly put them over the top. No brainer there, they're too cute.

Thanks to the tractorchick for reposting the article for us here on :rs: .

If you had one of those can you imagine what your neighbors would think? Their JD would look pretty pitiful by comparision. Would that look cool pulling a weight sled down the track. If somebody came out with one like that today people would be on a waiting list. Thanks for the article.

I'm a Jeep head myself, I've owned 5 up till now, the wife drives a loaded 2012 Wrangler and my son an 03 Grand Cherokee. Imagine going into your Jeep dealer to purchase a new Jeep and they offer a special deal on a Jeep Trac sitting on the show room floor if you buy a new Jeep? It doesn't seem to overly hard for someone handy with fiberglass and sheet metal to recreate one of these.

Seems the Jeep design was inspiring many people in the LAGT arena, back in the day.

Craig, that one is a Roof Palomino. Another one resembling the classic jeep body is the Struck Mini-beep. Both of which are very hard to find.

So whatever happened to the prototype JeepTrac??? That sure would make a cool add on kit if someone were to come up with a fiberglass mold.

It looks like you just need to fabricate the hood and fender pan. I really want one of these

Just too cool. As a little kid I wanted two things, a toy Jeep, and a Wheel Horse. The first Wheel Horse I saw was a two wheel Pond type in the late 1950's. It ws at my Dad's friend's house. They had hookeh a trailer to it and I was riding inthe trailer with his son. Thought it was pretty cool, hey I was only abour 8 years old. Now 50 years I have two Wheel Horses. Never got the Jeep. So I was facinated to see this article. It would be neat it a kit was available to set up an existing chassis to be the two passenger type. I'ld buy one, and then my wife might allow me to take our grand daughter for a ride, provided I had a roll bar and seat belts, lol

Great article, thnak you for posting it. Joe In Norton

That would be a great start wouldn't it? Do you think the hood and fender pan are fiberglass ? Are the C series fiberglass?
