wh-jason 32 #1 Posted March 18, 2011 ive had this idea in my head for quite awhile and finally got all the mechanics of it right. its a 4 wheel steer wagon, im gonna put a flat bed on it kinda like a hay wagon. i pulled it around the yard a bit and was quite surprised how tight of a corner you can turn with it. i made it out of 2 wheel horse frames welding the trans plates together and linked the steering with a piece of black pipe.

puddlejumper 67 #6 Posted March 18, 2011 Theres going to be one serious learning curve trying to back that in the barn. I can see that thing turning around and kissing its own a$$. Nice project though if nothing else it uses common leftovers.

mavfreak 11 #8 Posted March 18, 2011 We have a 4 wheel steering wagon on our farm and had one were I worked. Its is a pain but really once you learn it you can maneuver them into places you couldn't on a regular wagon. trick is slow slow slow and slow, and watch the back wheels and forget about the front. smoreau 658 #14 Posted March 19, 2011 What a great use of old parted out tractor parts. I like it and its got me thinking that trailer should follow the tractor like train cars. Might be nice at the shows with tight spots and narrow passages between rows.
rustbucket 4 #15 Posted March 19, 2011 wh-jason the 4 wheel steer is already hooked up in the photo he ran a piece of black pipe from one front end to the other where the steereing shaft would have been so when one front turns one way the other turns opposite. love seeing parts reused instead of hauled off to the scrap yard. zieg72 209 #20 Posted March 20, 2011 That would make a great low profile trac-vac trailer. You could hinge the hole side and all the vac'd up stuff should fall out.
farmer 1,075 #21 Posted March 20, 2011 Jason, Do you attend the big Wheel Horse show in June, if so I would take that along. I think you'd be very popular towards the end of the day!

Ed Kennell 35,626 #25 Posted August 26, 2014 I luv it....great use of spare parts. I see you have welded the front axle to the frame to stabilize the bed. Is the back axle free to float for uneven terrain ?
