Clinton engine, starter is wrong ,not sure of the exhaust or???

But nice resto done many years ago!

The guy I talked to said "It was here when I started 20 years ago"!!!

Think it's mostly original, you guys know more that I do Sooo.....

I want to make an offer, not an insult!! (rember it's not for sale)!

Soo...now the big question? I know,I know I hate to ask and put you on the spot!

But I will anyway, What would be a reasonable offer without gettin' slamed?

Thanks guys!

:) HORSEFEATHERS!

Don't know enough about RJ's either but since it looks like it needs nothing I'd say $500-$700. I'm sure the owner has more than that in it but you know with these tractors you never get all the money back you put in it. Good luck and check your e-mails. Mike

I would say start at $500 then go up to a final of $750 which is a solid offer.

Horsefeathers, I would start probably no less than $700, probably no more than $1000.I would pick a nice round number in between say $800-$850. You have to remember, you say its not for sale. Good Luck! Well time to fly meeting the guys one last time for breakfast before Christmas.

See Ya, Bye Burly

Bud good luck on this. Just don't see to many rj's round our neck of the woods. Can't really help on the price cause I really don't know anything about them at all. Other than I want one.

Hope to maybe see this in the spring!

IMO, even if its an older resto..... when all the dust settles you are looking at a darn near $1000 machine. Its a 35 which is one of the most collectable RJs, the last three "rusted, busted and not to be trusted" RJ35s that sold on evil-bay went north of a grand.... and they were POS's. Not to mention this one isn't for sale so I would put my best foot forward up front. I'm not saying pony up everything but you have to get the seller to realize you are serious and not waisting time.

My RJ35 is not restored yet but there's no way I would sell it for less than a grand as it sits right now.

Vince,

Thanks for putting this is perspective !

I agree that the RJ35 is one of the most collectible models. As I recall, it was one of the most mentioned in a recent "poll".

It's interesting (and entertaining) that the sellers on RED SQUARE are usually looking for top $$$, but the buyers are always on the opposite end!

As they say in the headliner to the TV series "PAWN STARS":

:) "EVERYTHING HAS A PRICE" :)

Would I pay $500 bucks for another RJ? (I doubt it)

Would I accept $1000 bucks for mine? (Nope!)

Now, slide that scale around, up and down, and things change don't they?

The only other factor other than "can I really afford it?" is:

What does your wife look like when she stands at the door?

Is her fists clenched and her hands on her hips? :):)

if not..............go for it! :wh:

PS: If you look close at my bald head you will see a scar that reads: ESROH LEEHW

I'm with Vin on this one. I'm sure if it belonged to anyone here it wouldn't be let go for anything less than a grand. I'm certain there are many guys out there that would pay quite a bit more. IMHO an insulting offer may ruin your chances. Good luck Bud!

I also agree with all of you! I would start at $ 800.00 and expect to pay $1000.00+ Especially since it has a good deck. One thing for sure say you will have WAY MORE than that in any kind of decent restore. I know I do in mine! By the way thats a nice looking tractor. Decals are wrong but so what! Good luck Bud! :)

Well all I can say is ask, we have a dealer here, that had a display tractor for years, and was not for sale, then it got put in the warehouse for a few years, then a guy I know, not me asked if they would sell it, they said yes they wanted $250 for it, it turned out to be a I believe 1955 rj with a few minor wrong things and is unrestored, so you just never know what will happen unless you ask.

I found a picture of it, when we had a meet and greet at my house.
