kj4kicks 151 #2 Posted April 15, 2008 Hey coach, Sorry about the bad week. Been there, too. Just remember, it's T minus 3 weeks until the great tractor swap ! Keep on smilin' It makes them wonder what you're up to......
kpinnc 10,718 #3 Posted April 15, 2008 I hear ya Karl. But, you can't blame those poor, underpriveleged dentists. They do after all have great-great grandchildren's college tuitions to think about. Plus, the maintenance on a BMW has just gotten rediculous. And let's not forget the cost of diesel fuel in the wife's Hummer either. They are just like you and me, trying to make an honest living... I took my daughter to the dentist in January. The PLICK (yes, I know how it's spelled) charged me $964 after insurance for something he did in less than an hour. Then they want to frown on you when the bill is a surprise.... I've got nothing against someone making a wealthy living. I believe that many people who make them do so honestly, and some even for the greater good for others, but when you do it by sticking me with a stupid bill, you become a PLICK. If you're butthole enough to have a problem with my response from said bill, you're an F-PLICK.... I feel your pain Karl, and I hope tomorrow is better for you. Please forgive my venting, but I like dentists even less than a freaking judge. I won't go there right now. I'll burn my fingertips on this keyboard..... bustedglass 1 #4 Posted April 15, 2008 I won't get going on dentists', I don't have enough time...... All I can say is AMEN to what you said Kevin. I was in the service business for years, and my worst, and CHEAPEST customers were dentists' and doctors. I could write a book . Keep your faith Karl, things will get better. Sounds like they can't get much worse.
Nick 13 #5 Posted April 15, 2008 I feel your pain to. The last time I went to the old dentist my records showed I was 3 days short of 22 years since the last visit. Next was the "specialists" that were talking over $4k just to get started. So I didnt go back and it has now been 10 years since Ive been to a dentist. A new TV isnt real cheap either. They are all flat screen digital now. Nick

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,345 #9 Posted April 16, 2008 Sorry to hear of your woes, Karl. I hate to say it, but it makes my little ole woe not as significant when I'm reading about yours. Like Eldon said, it won't be long until that "new" C-160 is sitting in your garage.
nylyon-(Admin) 7,120 #10 Posted April 16, 2008 Well, getting a new TV ain't all that bad, I now have a beautiful 46" LCD and man do I like it. Now the Dentist part still stinks, and it will only get worse. My middle daughter will need braces soon as well. I hope this dentist likes his new Aston Martin I'm getting for him! The laptop is a gonner, the mother board is shot, not sure if I will fix it or just wait a bit and get an Apple laptop to replace it. I am sure that all will return to normal soon, just hate to dish out so much cash at one time, but boy do I like that TV.
Rollerman 290 #11 Posted April 16, 2008 Karl I'm one of those people who tend to procrastinate about going to the Dentist. Two winters back I had some fillings repaired & some new ones put in.....oh & my two remaining wisdom teeth removed. 17 visits later 2 sometimes 3 visits a week & I was all smiles again till I got the bill.... <_< I think thats when my high blood pressure kicked in.....
hoosier 1 #12 Posted April 16, 2008 Karl, I hear ya. Wife just went to the dentist. $$ She is also losing her job the end of May due to outsourcing to China. Bye Bye insurance. The clothes dryer quit, although I traced it to a failed thermal switch, and I was able to repair that myself. My computer gave up, I'm now on my daughters', And now my job may be over at any time given the boss's inclination. Life throws curves, don't it?
Rollerman 290 #13 Posted April 16, 2008 Karl the nev TV sounds nice atleast. We still have the liveing room all torn apart here waiting for the wife to decide on a type of carpet she wants. Mean while my TV sits in the dineing room....unplugged.

Curmudgeon 28 #15 Posted April 17, 2008 Right now, all my stuff is working ok...... but the truck I drive at work isn't doing so good. Took a little nap while driving about 5:20 last wednesday. That was a BIG ditch! On a curve. With an old roadbed t-ing off it. If it wouldn't have been for that high, old roadbed, it would have rolled. As it is, the bumper is where the front wheel used to be. The front wheel is where the fiberglass fender used to be. The rear duals are pushed back where air used to be. Some of the box is kinda crumpled up. That's just some of it. When I went by the scene this week, and saw the ditch depth, the old roadbed height, the amount of earth I plowed up, the trenches I dug, I really should be dead. Fortunately, I think, I didn't lose my job. Yet. Now, did somebody say something about bad luck?
BairleaFarm 339 #16 Posted May 1, 2008 With then a 6 day period I lost my 50k plus bonus job, my basement flooded and took the hot water heater and furnace with it. It wasnt covered under insurance because I didnt have flood coverage and some broke into my truck and stole 1500$ worth of performance stuff. Auto insurance only covers 250$ for personal belongings.
