Both my sister-in-law and her husband are currently students at Northern IL Univ. They're ok... but still... what goes through people's heads?

I just KNOW I'm going to catch crap from someone by saying this, but......

If all the students were allowed to carry guns, these imbeciles would think twice before going on their own "shooting spree".

I know I wouldn't open fire on a classroom full of people who might shoot back!

NIU is sort of special to me as I was an Army recruiter in Dekalb back in the early to mid 80's. I recruited a few students from there and my youngest daughter was born at Kishwaukee Hospital in Sycamore just outside of Dekalb.

This shooting is just exactly a week from a shooting near St. Louis where a disgruntled construction contractor shot 6 people at a town meeting, killing 5 before police shot and killed him. Definitely what IS wrong with people nowadays. :thumbs:

This is a true tragedy, as are all such events. I'm glad your family is safe and my thoughts are with those less fortunate.

What REALLY scares me is this is an election year and these morons are providing ammunition to the serendipitous socialists that want to take my guns away.
