One of the several 8 HP Kohler engines we've seen here had the old rubber fuel hose go through the shroud kind of at the bottom of the cooling fins.

I cut space for mine, and sleeved it with a steel tube :handgestures-thumbupright:

Mine was neither.

I believe it was on the first Horse. My B80.  My favorite small engine shop assembled most of it. Not sure why they thought it went in there but it worked.

Between the backing plate and the cooling fins?  I think I’ve got a couple more like that too…

A bit yes. Plus the hacking on the sides of the hood.

One reason I don't like Tecumseh they don't even make the horsepower there rated at. Compare both of the 160s and you'll see why.

The piston displacements are way different.

Absolutely true.

The Tecumseh is an overhead valve engine.

It makes the same amount of HP with less displacement.

It is less torque. But HP is identical.

For the size ... the Tecumseh is pretty stout.

While I'm a firm believer in "There's no replacement for displacement" It is not untrue that you can just as much Horse Power out of a Honda 2.2L engine as you can out of a Chev 5.7L engine. Torque may be a different story.

Both the Techy and the Kohler produce 16hp according to the manufacturers. Torque may be different though.
