    1988 252-H Wheels

I’m trying to restore my grandfathers old 252-H to use around my property. The tires are shot and the rims aren’t too far behind. Anyone have any recommendations for rims and tires that would fit well on it? right now it has 22 x 7.50 - 12 on the back and 15 x 6 - 6 on the front.
  2. Hi Guys, I just bought some Carlisle Turfmaster 24x12-12 rear tires to replace the 23x8.50-12 tires I have on there now. I was wondering which rims I should buy to fit these bigger tires. The charts say an 8.50 width rim but should the offset stay the same or does it need to change? Any other dimensions I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is healthy and well! John
  3. I'm thinking about going with 7.50 tires on the front with the 8" stock rims. I mow in a wet area and am thinking if I increase the surface area, I'll be less likely to sink. I already went wider in the rear, which seems to work well. I'm also running lower pressures all around. My main concern is if the slightly wider tires will clear the mower deck when I make tight turns. As it is, the 6.50 clears only by about an inch. I'd like to go with the 7.50 Carlisle Turf Masters, the mounted width is 7". Currently I am running the stock tires, which are Turf Savers, and according to Carlisle, the mounted width is 6.6". I guess if that's the case, it may not make much difference in surface area, and I would be risking rubbing the tires on the deck. I have a 42" deck. If anyone is using (or knows for sure if) 7.50 Turf Masters on an 8" wheel with a 42" deck on a 416-8, please let me know how well it works. Obviously I can't risk "tire rub". I also welcome any other suggestions for mowing wet ground. Thanks in advance.

    Caddilac kind?

@PeacemakerJack @ACman @cschannuth @ebinmaine Last week coming home from work I changed lanes to allow another vehicle on and missed unidentified object with front tire but it got the right rear and actually popped through the tread about 1.5 miles to my exit where I get out and survey the damage when I remember I didn't have a jack or tire tools since buying it used last year ,I then drove the last 1.5 mile home, any ways I ruined the tire rest of the way, I remember my BIL having a set of Caddilac Escalade wheels so I procured those and and brand new set of shoes to go along, slow transforming this little ride into my "shop truck", Jeff.
  5. Good Morning everybody! I am in the process of sharpening the blades for my mowing deck (Model 78360 - Serial 7904987) and I noticed that the deck has a crack in it right where the bracket to the mounting hardware (to the tractor) is. SO I know I have to get that repaired. But while I was at this, I thought I could do a good quick once over on the deck to make sure I am ready for the season. What I would like to do is the following: Change the bearings for the spindles (or pack them with more grease) Get new rear tires (since they squeak) And that's about it If anyone here thinks I should do anything else, I would love to hear it! Where does everyone get the hardware (bearings, wheels for these rebuilds?)
  6. The poor rusty front wheels on my 67’ lawn ranger have finally blown out. I’m in the need for some replacements and didn’t know what the easiest option is. The tractor is rough so I don’t need anything factory or fancy!
  7. I recently put different rims and tires on my 1973 no name and found that the center on the hubs are smaller than the center on the rims. The original tires were 20 x 10 - 10 and I replaced them with rims from a C160 and put 23 x 8.5 - 12 lug tires on. I first tried chains on the tires but the plow would rub on the chains so I switched the rims out and put on the lug tires. My question is, is this okay or will it likely cause problems. The lug nuts seemed to all go on normal except I had to hold the wheel up to start the first one.
  8. Hey Guys, I have found out that I have a fast leak on the front "drivers" side tire and a slower one on the rear "drivers" side tire. Do you guys know where the best place to find tires (they're a bit worn), and tubes? Not to mention, what is the best way to get them off the wheel? Thank you in advance!

    3/12 attention

So I sold my two other tractors. Unfortunately I just don't have the room. I kept my first. The 3/12. Why? It's in great shape, 12hp magnum runs perfect and what's tougher than a cast iron kohler? The 8 speed is simple, needs a clutch spring but other wise perfect and this tractor has the 1 1/8" axles. I put a facet fuel pump in last year and am very happy with it. Changed fluids and that's it. I kept the 8" wheels off the work horse and put deestones on today. Looks awesome. I plan on adding 8" front wheels, arear rock shaft and some other stuff too. I have the mower and bag for it and the 48" plow which was awesome last winter. I will also put my 2" receiver on this one too. Forgive the mess we are still unpacking and I still have to set up my shop.

    Tire size on stock wheels

What is the widest tire I can mount on a stock rear C-161 wheel? Currently has 23-8.50's. Could it handle a 23-10.50? I have plenty of clearance. I'm just worried about the wider tire looking goofy or not mounting up on the stock wheel. I want a little more width in an Ag style tire. Thanks.
  11. Has anyone found a replacement wheel for the 4 wheeled wagon....or possibly the tub cart (might have the same wheel...not sure)???
