    New in Box Plow

96-42BA01 plow. Brand new in box. I assembled to make sure all parts were included. Did have to add a trip spring, spring rod, and index rod. Someone "borrowed" them as it sat in the warehouse for 50 years. Box is a bit rough, but I could reinforce it for transport. I will disassemble it, need workbench space. Made for (per manual): 1974 A800, 1975 A80 1976-7 A90 A100 I believe vertical shaft tractors. Maybe others? Thanks for looking Matt
  2. I have an older C-160 tractor (runs like a top) with what I measure to be a 36 inch snowblower. I recently broke the snowblower chain and found a connecting link but can't figure out how to route the chain for repair, having never studied it closely. It has four sprockets total, including the drive shaft, auger, and two adjustment sprockets (I presume). The top and lower adjustments' teeth are both very close to the larger auger sprocket. I tried routing around all four but it seems too loose. I looked in the manual section of this forum but couldn't find a 36 inch and do not know the age of my tractor. It is an 8 speed with Kohler engine. Any help or link to a diagram would be much appreciated. I found one diagram on another site for a different model snowblower, but it definitely wasn't the route for my chain. Thanks for any help.

    Wheel horse 1054

Need ideas to convert my 1054 A Frame plow into a snow blower Any idea's?
  5. Hello all. I am looking for suggestions on adapting the pto from my C series tractor to a harbor freight predator 420 13hp engine. I know the predator motors are a controversial topic however it is the route I have chosen for this particular machine. The intent was to mostly use it for plowing so no PTO required but it would be handy to have. Looking to hear from someone that has successfully done the swap that may offer any advice before I attempt to transfer it over. Just looking for any general pointers that will help me along the way to make it go as smoothly as possible.

    Snow Herd is Ready

10HP with 42” blade, C-85 w/cab & 42” Snow Blower, 315-8 w/Ark Loader. Ready for some snow ❄️. Last year had up to 14” in Ohio. Snow cab windows were fogged up bad and I used MeGuires PlastX, this stuff was easy, apply like wax, rubbing it in and wipe off, amazing how it cleared that plastic window up.

  9. Picked up this Toro Power Max yesterday. The rake is shot but the gearbox is good and the shaft isn't bent. Why Toro doesn't use shear bolts, I'll never know.
  10. wheel horse garden tractor mower, rear discharge mowing deck & snow blower both in good condition and runs well. all the parts for the snow blower are with it.

    Now THAT is service!

Tom, one of the owners of Boyden & Perron of Amherst, MA, the Master Toro/Wheel Horse dealer who sold me my 1998 314-8 Wheel Horse Garden Tractor came out in the middle of a snow storm, at night, after a full day of work, the night before Thanksgiving to fix my tractor when it broke down after 30 feet of snow blowing. Turns out, when I got out of the cab, I kicked the gear shift which caused the safety switch to turn off the engine - as expected. I'm a big guy and new to the more compact nature of the WH controls and the confines of a snow cab. Apparently, when that happened, the magnetic part on the gear shift broke off. I'm new to wheel horse and had no idea and since I only had the tractor for just shy of 24 hours and I was standing in the dark in the snow with now way to get my car up the driveway (it's a Honda and doesn't like steep grades and snow - both describing my driveway), I gave them a call figuring he could walk me through some stuff on the phone. He did but none of it helped, so to my surprise he came out. Unfortunately, when he got to my house, because it was dark and snowing and the mailbox is in between my driveway and my neighbors and a bit confusing, he chose the wrong driveway and being even steeper than mine and not plowed, he slid off into a ditch. He than walked over to my house to get my tractor working again (we jumped out the gear shift switch) and then he called a co-worker to get him home. Unfortunately, he had driveways to plow with that tuck and couldn't get it out until Thanksgiving. Some time on Thanksgiving morning, when he came to get his truck out, he delivered my tractors bagger tube that got left behind when he delivered the tractor. I felt SOOOOO bad for Tom but that just speaks volumes about the level of service you get from Boyden & Perron! I can't recommend them enough! Here's a video of the poor guy testing out the tractor to make sure all was ok (and probably to kill time waiting to be picked up).

    Will it fit?

Will the plow I am using on my C121 and C160 work on a 876? or is the plow frame different? Thanks Bob
  13. Just wanted to show a modification I did to my 1990 310-8. I recently picked up a 36” tiller for my horse and I tried it out on my new garden area. After hitting a rock, it knocked one of the axle brackets open dropping the right side of the tiller. On a manual I viewed, it had clevis pins to hold the lever in, but my bracket did not have them. I drilled a 1/4” hole through on each lever and mounted a 1/4” clevis pin and hairpin cotter to reinforce the lever. I read on another post to just tighten the bolts on the levers, but I think this will work a little better. Hope this helps someone!

    Plow Toro 520xi

Good afternoon, looking for some help regarding a plow assembly for a 1999 520xi model # 73542. I'm told that a traditional Wheel Horse plow assembly will not fit this tractor, that the xi series requires a special plow assembly. Problem is, most of the people selling plow assemblies don't seem to know what they have, and I don't know what I need! I have included the supposed model numbers pulled from the Toro website, including that of a retrofit kit, but I'm not sure what that retrofit kit does! Does it enable me to fit a traditional Wheel Horse plow to an xi model? Don't know. One guy selling a plow knew what type of plow he had and told me it would not fit my tractor, stating "Lift link and handle are in the wrong locations." Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just need to know what the hell I'm looking for, which might help me find it! From Toro site: Model #: 79355 48" Snow/Dozer Blade Model #: 95-4090 48" Dozer Blade Retrofit Kit Thanks!!!
  15. Hi guys I'm new to the wheelhorse world and i recently picked up a for 416-H and I'm looking to buy/install a plow put on it. I have found one on craigslist but I can't tell if it will work on my tractor or not, it is a wheelhorse plow though. Can somebody please send a photo or even a video of how to hook up a plow to a 416 or equivalent tractor? Attached is my tractor and the plow I'm looking at. Will it fix and what's it missing ?!
  16. Has anyone found a fuel gauge type cap to fit the 2-1/4" threaded neck on the plastic tanks in the C-series? My current cap leaks at much over 3/4 tank, would love to get a better-sealed unit with a gauge on it. I did find a Kelch to fit the D, it's a bit short but works great and doesn't leak, while still vented correctly. Sarge

    Model # =???

Hi All, I have what I believe is a Commando 800 but would like to confirm model and year. Tag reads Model # 1 0100 6; Serial # 790336. Have had it for years (bought from original owner) and want to clean it up some. Thanks!
  19. Thanks for the input so far. Nothing has worked!?? I have a WH 91-16KS01 1979 C-161 HYDRO. Kohler K341AS Spec # 71246A Original belt which was supposed to have been new earlier this year, was running off idler pulley. Found this this to be true because I smelled it rubbing on belt cover and wittnessed it running off idler. As per 4 suggestions I have received so far, nothing is working. Have new idler pulley, spring and 2 different size belts. NEW: 2 new belts. One 84" and one 82" as per conflicting numbers from dealer and this forum. Tried both sizes, 82" absolutely too SMALL. The 84" WALKS off New idler pulley and new spring. 83" goes on but will not allow disenagement of lever and walks off idler as well. Have tried every possible combination. New idler pulley IS installed correctly so as to line up with pump pulley. Linkage bars have all new spacers and shims to eliminate this as possible problem. Bought the tractor earlier this year for winter snowblowing only. So far new/used transaxle last month. Now while dealing with this belt issue I noticed it was getting hard to start after first start up. While banging my head on the wall behind me in "belt" frustration I have now noticed what appears to be a blown head gasket. Something else to be dealt with once "belt issue" is resolved. I certainly appreciate ANYTHING I may be overlooking on this belt issue.
  20. Hey guys, my wheelhorse c81 got a new transmission last year and now it’s grinding when I drive. First thing the brake pulley is on a higher shaft and doesn’t work with the c81 brake rod and hardware. Second the bearing behind the intake pulleyhas fallen out, which I assume is the grinding sound. Is there a way I can fix it without taking the whole transmission apart? I don’t have enough knowledge to do that kind of repair. Thanks so much -Shea

    So... now in confused

I had a drive belt let go on a 1980 C-175 Sundstrand hydro. After searching the manuals it looks like either an 83" or an 85 1/2" belt is called for. Anyone know the right length off the top of their head? Thanks
  22. Going to pick up a load of horses Thursday evening. D160, rj, suburban and c141. Will post pictures when I get them. I’m gonna try an get them all in one load so I am gonna have to use some of @pullstart loading skills. I think I can fit three in the truck and put the d160 on the trailer. Here is a little preview, that’s all you guys get for now unless you just happen to find ad for them

    Ratchet strap fail

Last week I was hauling the c-121 back from my daughters softball practice (I used it to drag the diamond) and I made a right hand turn and stopped at the stop sign. As I made the left onto a non busy county road I watched in my right mirror as my horse decided it didn’t want to be trailered any longer. It rolled over 1 completely time and sat on its wheels. Unfortunately it broke some parts and tweaked the hood and deck lower-lift handle. I did manage to put it back on the trailer as a tripod and get it home. Always check your straps and rigging. Found the ratchet failed in my case. And unfortunately i cannot download a picture for this🤨
  24. A friend of mine gave me this brush that he had mounted on the front of his 48 inch WH Plow. Says he used it because his driveway is gravel and it solved the problem of digging it up when plowing snow. He since paved the drive and passed it on to me. I installed my plow today and brush today, just need some snow to try it out. I'll post the results later.

    Monday treasure find

Well Monday had a great day rounding up some attachments. Now to clean them up, paint, get new badges from the vinyl guy. Just a few projects for winter and maybe summer we see how it goes. Just not sure which I'm going to do first. Almost forgot the new addition to the heard.
