  1. Need a pair or rear rims for 518xi, 520Lxi, 522xi, 523dxi, GT18, GT20, GT22, GTD23D, tractors. Can take new old stock, nice used, or used that need refurbishing. Anything will be fine. Needs to be within 2 hrs of Erie, PA, or shipping available. Thank you, Mike.
  2. Are there aftermarket front rims available for C Series tractors? I have a 120 and a 160 that need front rims… thx.
  3. Hi Guys, I just bought some Carlisle Turfmaster 24x12-12 rear tires to replace the 23x8.50-12 tires I have on there now. I was wondering which rims I should buy to fit these bigger tires. The charts say an 8.50 width rim but should the offset stay the same or does it need to change? Any other dimensions I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is healthy and well! John

    520H swept axle rims

What is a good replacement rim for the fronts since you can no longer get the stuff from Toro. Been looking. Not much luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have an 1989 312-8. The Owner's Manual shows a color photo/picture of a WH with silver/gray rims. The WH has silver/gray rims now, but it definitely is not the original paint. I am redoing the rims (sandblast and repaint) and I would like to repaint with as original a color as possible. I would appreciate any information available. Thanks Old5foot
  6. Anybody had any success mounting Kenda Terra 502 tires on 7.5 x 12 Wheel Horse rims? Kenda says the tire needs a 8.5 x 12 rim. They spec. out as 23 x 10.5 x 12. My 318 rims measure 7.5" from inside of bead to inside of bead. So they just might work. Reason for all this being I have some steep slopes down to the lake. Yard has a toboggan run slope, a couple of 8 - 10 foot drops with flat areas in between. Total drop of about 20 feet in about 100 feet. Plus the soil is Michigan sand. Grass is thin and the old original Carlisles just aren't cutting it anymore. Looking for a more agressive tire for turf. Have read some goon reviews of the 502's on this forum. But not much detail on the rims they were mounted on. Any experiences good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks Old 5 Foot
  7. I recently put different rims and tires on my 1973 no name and found that the center on the hubs are smaller than the center on the rims. The original tires were 20 x 10 - 10 and I replaced them with rims from a C160 and put 23 x 8.5 - 12 lug tires on. I first tried chains on the tires but the plow would rub on the chains so I switched the rims out and put on the lug tires. My question is, is this okay or will it likely cause problems. The lug nuts seemed to all go on normal except I had to hold the wheel up to start the first one.
  8. I have a 1999 314-8 and I am looking for a 2nd set of rear rims for turf tires. I know the oem is 23 x 9.5-12, what other models have the same bolt pattern to fit mine. Will a 510 rims fit ?
  9. As many of you know, the correct rims (especially the front ones) for the RJ's and Suburban's are becoming pricy. So from a hobby (verses technically correct collector) What other front rms are the same or similar offset and look. Did any other brands use the RJ/suburban front rim, or use a similar looking rim. What other WH or other brand rear rims are similar.
  10. In a previous thread, several folks asked me how I painted my rims with tires already mounted. I recently did another set, so I illustrated the process as I did it. Typically, I like to paint the rims after they are mounted anyways, because inevitably when you have tires mounted on painted rims you’ll always scratch or nick them somewhere. I like to get the rims all cleaned up, blasted and primed, then mount my tires. Here’s my process: 1) Rims were sandblasted and primed with self-etching primer. Tires and tubes were mounted. Everything was wiped down with a pre-kleeno wax and grease remover prior to taping. 2) Using blue 3M tape, I go all the way around the rim slipping the tape between the rubber and rim occasionally tucking it tight with a very small standard screwdriver. 3) Then I create a wider tape ring a few inches out from the rim lip. 4) Slide the whole thing into a kitchen garbage bag. 5) Cut a hole in the bag revealing your tape ring below. 6) Tape the bag to your tape ring previously created on the tire. 7) For silver rims, I like Eastwood Silver Argent rally wheel paint and I use a Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear. http://www.eastwood.com/silver-argent-rally-wheel-paint-set.html 8) I wipe the rims down a few more times with a pre-kleeno wax and grease remover, blow them off with the gun, then shoot two coats of color and two coats of clear. I find that the Rust-Oleum clear holds a much better shine if you don’t let it set long between coats. As soon as it flashes, hit it with round 2. I do all four coats in about 20 minutes.
  11. Just got done sand blasting a set of rims. when I was starting to prime them and said wait I will check and see if I am using the correct primer. pulled up the technical data sheet for the stuff on line and it states that "priming is not recommended" it talks about removing loose paint and rust with wire brush / sand paper and removing gloss with sand paper. mainly it addresses top coating a already painted surface. I am 99.9% bare metal so do I still not prime? I seen a lot of talk of this prime on here have you guys primed or put it on straight out of the blaster? thanks
