Looking at some pictures from the Fawn Grove show, reminded me of an incident that's worth relating to you guys. You see the guy in the green shirt on the right side of this picture. Just as he got to the top of the hill near me, the left front wheel fell off his electric wheel chair. He is handicapped. A quick look and I see a broken off bolt in the end of the axle. I didn't have the proper tools(drills and easy-outs) with me, but found an old wood chisel and a tubeless tire hole cleaner tool. Tapping with these, After about a half hour, I was able to get the bolt to move about a 1/4 turn, but was not having much success getting it out and was near giving up. By this time a small crowd had gathered and a young lad, maybe 12yo, said let me try. He laid down on his side and using the tire awe as a punch and by tapping with skill , he backed the broken bolt out in about 15 minutes. The bolt was a 7mm that is not common in my tool box, but we found the basket on the back of his buggy was attached with two plastic knobbed 7mm bolts. A few 5/16 washers for spacers and the wheel was securely back in place. The old gentleman looked at me and was reaching for his wallet. I pointed to the lad and he was rewarded. There is hope for this world........teach those kids to pull wrenches and be self sufficient.

After filling my Chevrolet 1 ton pick up and 2 gallon fuel can up with gas Wednesday then paying $147.00 to do so ..... yes I was upset. I wondered just how many people would show up this year for the Wheel Horse Show? We had left at 4:00am here in Richmond and headed north, yes it was a little misty once in a while but then the weather got worse the further, we drove. I figured the rain would stop once we got over the Catoctin Mountain well the weather still was not good. Right before we got to the South Mountain Fairground's I was nervous to look over to the right from the road to see into the parking lot and just wondered .... was anybody going to be there? Whew I saw trucks with trailers with Wheel Horses on them I thought ok there's enough to be called a show. Even standing in the rain talking with all the Wheel Horse folks was fun but I noticed the attendance was down a little .... was it the rain? Once the weather broke in the afternoon the fairgrounds started to fill up with Wheel Horses but still way below normal. Friday morning the sun came out and so did the Wheel Horses, fairground was filling up. I was flabbergasted at the amount that showed up! Never thinking the show would turn out so big. The signature white pants and shirt went on and I went to work. Before the parade I did make a commentary about Americans worked hard for their money and dang it they were going have the fun they earned too! The parade was fun and again a big Thanks to Jo and Linda for the help. Believing that people have been couped up too long and they wanted to just get out and have fun. With the RJ-58 being the featured tractor next year where else would be a good place then at the show to find a RJ-58 raffle prize tractor. Daryl Horning and I found two RJ-58's at Jason Reigner's supply of used Wheel Horses for sale in the flea market section, now we had to do some negotiating because we only wanted certain parts from both tractors but an agreement was made and we taught a few youngsters to art of negotiating. Ok so now I have a wrenching project on my hands that had to get done. Since we are at the show we are going to have fun with this, with microphone in hand I made a bet to see if anyone could guess how many minutes it would take before I would get grease on my white pants and the winner, I would buy lunch for. Well Craig tried to get grease on me by getting his hand dirty first then grab me and Jay in NC ran up to me with a squeeze bottle of gear oil and shoot me with it! Afterward the youngster taking the names and times told me that six people came up to her and said "he will not get his pants dirty, we have seen him do this before". Once the general member ship meeting was over it was time to get back to business, the ice social and the Cruise Night with the oldies music playing over the loud speckers! I love to watch the expression's on people faces who have never seen it or been in it before ..... it's like watching kids on Christmas morning all having fun. The Cruise Night somehow takes people away from all the problems of world so they can have fun on their Wheel Horses. It amazed me that when Daryl and I signaled the cruises that it was time to shut down by waving our hand across our necks that people signaled back with the thumbs up sign meaning "ok will do" and they did. Yes I was impressed by that. Saturday was the last of the buying a short parade and then the raffle prizes given away. Packing up to go home is always hard because of all the people I want to talk to, next year's show is coming, and I can't wait for the 25th Annual Wheel Horse Show! Wild Bill in Richmond VA

@Wild Bill in VA I know he’s not looking for any recognition here but let’s face it, he basically makes the show complete. Without Bill the parade would not be what it is. His knowledge of every tractor that comes past him in the parade is truly impressive. For many, including myself it’s kind of the pinnacle of being a proud Wheel Horse owner being in the parade and being interviewed by Bill. He truly makes everyone in that line of tractors feel special, regardless of what they are driving. Although I was not able to attend this year’s show I’ve only missed three since the start of it. I don’t believe anyone else can pull off wearing that pure white outfit and command ( not demand ) the respect that he and our tractors deserve. Honestly just wanted to say “Thank You Bill Pearson for making the Wheel Horse show great!” God bless you Bill !

I had a great time at the Big Show, but was worn out by the time I got home Friday night. By 10 AM Saturday, I was feeling good. The trailer was still connected so I drive down to the Little Show at Fawn Grove, about 8 mile from home.

Jo has been a BIG HELP over the years running the parade and I thought it's 'bout time for her to get some recognition for her work. Keep in mind folks the parade lasts generally way over 2 hours and Jo in meticulous in timing for sending the next person with their Wheel Horse up to me. Anyhow when I first saw Brian at the show I told him that we have something special planned for Jo and don't tell her. The only other person who knew that something was going to happen was the chief photographer, Linda. I hid my Senior behind Jim and Karen's display which was not far from the beginning of the parade route and so right after the last person with their Wheel Horse came under the tent for me to talk with, I handed the microphone to Jo and told her to hold it for a minute. Quickly I ran back to Jim and Karen's and got the Senior and drove right up under the tent where Jo was still standing ...... now she tried to hand me back the microphone back to me but I wouldn't take back ...... at that point you could see a little worried look on her face! Now Jo is a smart woman and she figured out really quick what she had to do ...... interview me about my Wheel Horse! Now no matter what question she asked me ..... I was not going to give her a straight answer and I was not going to finish talking! Jo was a good sport about the little fun we had and because of her work at the show she received "Life Membership" in the Wheel Horse Collector Club! Thank You Jo. Wild Bill in Richmond VA

Been awhile since I had this little gem out. One of the first wh tractor I actually bought, when I got it I didn't even know what it was! Lol! Not a bad 300 buck purchase in my opinion! Took the old tired smoker k91 off and installed a great running k90 I found in a pile of junk at my kids uncles shop!

Pullstart Uber Services delivered some packages from the Big Show on time and with no damage!!! Thank you Kevin!!! My thanks to @buckrancher for a beautiful condition E 141. My second!!! New York to Pennsylvania to Michigan… And thanks to @mike’shorsebarn for the beautiful yard art that now graces our yard… love it!!! It looks great! Mrs. Sylvan is happy with where it landed as am I. Denali wants to know how to drive it without opposable thumbs… Ended up using the come a long to get it in trailer - that locked up rear end made moving it a bear… I’ll do a thread on the E 141 in the electric tractor section… Thanks again Pullstart clan!!! I appreciate your detour to make the drop!!! Enjoy your Black Hood!!!

I don't wanna' tell ya' this but the 25th Anniversary Special was the featured tractor a few years back. It was very difficult to think about what model should be the feature for the 25th Anniversary of the Annual Wheel Horse Show but to me in 1958 the creation of the RJ-58 really put Wheel Horse on the map. With the first use of a geared 3 speed transmission and many attachments it made America want a garden tractor. Wild Bill in Richmond VA

The little group of hiking folks me n Trina hang out with initially melded together back in 2015. She and I, along with several other people, met at Mt Blue State Park, Weld Maine in June of 2015 when I was leading mountain hikes and camping trips. It's been an annual trip since. This year we decided to take a couple extra days off and go up early so we could enjoy what the park has to offer and be more relaxed about it. The BBT has of course been prepping for the trip for at least a week prior. Thursday we loaded the car and drove up. Relaxed in the campsite after getting all setup. Friday I got outta bed earlier n' the rest of camp like normal. Made up delicious boiled Cowboy coffee and set a spell to relax by the fiya 🔥. Had some good quiet company for just a bit. Little bunny rabbit stopped by to see me. We went kayaking Friday as well. The rest of the weekend was fabulous!! We hiked Big Jackson Mountain and a second unnamed smaller peak. 7.6 miles. Well over 3000 feet elevation gain. That's the best I've done in the last 3 years. Recovery and management of my fibromyalgia is going well. Here's the hiking pics. Not necessarily in any particular order...

Don , I did get the message that you said "Hi" if your friend saw me. The Annual Wheel Horse Show is a collective effort between a group of people and somehow I fit in. It is the people with their Wheel Horses that attend the show that makes it great and to me they should be thanked! I do Thank You Don for the kind words and look forward to seeing you and your family at the next show ........ the 25th Anniversary of the Annual Wheel Horse Show! Kevin , It is the unique people like you Taylor and Rylee the help make the Annual Wheel Horse Show an amazing event ..... "a 1054 snow mobile" what else can be said???? Wild Bill in Richmond VA

@Pullstart and clan dropped off my second E 141 today! Came from @buckrancher via the Big Show. Great shape. Quieter than my other one. Overall in much better condition. Looking forward to getting it all lubed up to @peter lena standards so it’s ready for train towing and lawn mowing duties… perhaps snow plowing this winter…

Thanks too you Bill and all the staff that make this show happen every year! I was also wondering if our current inflation/fuel prices would affect attendance…but NOPE! The place was packed! I did miss seeing a few regulars but also met a few folks that I didn’t know…so even-Steven right ! I have a “You only live once” kinda view on this and I refuse to let the state of our economy ruin something I enjoy doing only once a year. I’m also not on a fixed income so there’s that. My hotel was $142…fuel was right around $350 but @Docwheelhorse and I ride down together so that gets split in half, $35 at Texas Roadhouse, $10 at Apple Bin Grill (breakfast) and misc other food at the show and on the road at around $50 puts me just over $400. I think I dropped another $400-$500 on Wheel Horse “stuff” so I’m at $800-$900 for two days of FUN! Well worth it and I’ll do it again!

Well done Ed... And the lad. He knew the basis of that work before you came along. That by itself is excellent. To pass the reward along shows him there are things in life worth doing. People worth helping out. Excellent.

I put $250 in the tanks before leaving town yesterday, another $200 in this morning. I never paid attention to the totals on the way there. Sold enough stuff to make it there and I’m so glad I did! @Wild Bill in VA I was cheering you on when you were talking about the hard working Americans making it happen to get to the show, that’s what the Wheel Horse Story is all about!

Most of you guys know that what with the high price of diesel @Achto and I decided not to go to the Big Show but save our money for local shows. It was not an easy decision to make not to go but since Dan took some vacation, we decided to ease our pain and take a little fishing trip to my cabin in the northwoods of WI. Weather was great and despite the skunking we took on a new to us lake we had a blast and caught some fish. Terry @Vinylguy would have been proud of the bass we nailed on another lake! Got the deer and bear fed and also got the Massey running by bleeding out the injector lines and emptying a can of sniffin salts. Dan's reward was some seat time in box blading some roads around the cabin that were gettin rough. Sadly, I did not get any pictures of the fish but rest assured @Shynon @prondzy @Pullstart @ronwh we got enough for our Friday fish fry at the Portage show! Here's one that came out funky.... I think Dan was relieving himself here but the shirt says The Rodfather..... we stopped at a little store for cocktail ice and the proprietors got a hoot out of it! Great weather, good fishing, food & drink what more can a guy ask for! I think the first selfie I ever took! Dan did a fine job mowing around the cabin on the C-125!

Thank you, Bill- The WHCC tractor parade is one of the most fun events at the show! I appreciate being able to take parade pictures with you and Jo and sharing your interviews with the parade's tractor owners and riders with the world! Your interviews are legendary and the parade gives everyone a chance to talk with you, share their experiences with their tractors, get quizzed on their Wheel Horse knowledge -and just have a great time! Friday's special parade ending - when you gave the microphone to Jo and had her interview you - was a complete surprise to everyone! Jo did such a great job interviewing you and we all enjoyed how much fun you both had with the switch in roles too! It was great Craig could help with the raffle prize tractor and I know he enjoyed working with the younger helpers! Wish we could have stayed longer- but we have lots of great memories to get us through the long cold winter until the show next year! THANK YOU- and Jo- for all you do to make the WHCC show so much fun and so memorable for us all! Sincerely, Linda

A few more pictures I took this morning after having my breakfast at the Apple Bin in Biglerville. They are on the way to the Adams County Fairgrounds where the annual Wheel Horse Collectors club show is held. Also some last minute pictures around the grounds. This was the year of the Senior as the tractor of the year and there were some really nice ones there. I took some closeups of one resting I. One of the show buildings. I left for Greencastle, Indiana a few minutes after 11 am and arrived home at 9:30 pm.

Went to the show on Friday morning and was surprised to find the amount of Horses on the grounds , Had a wonderful time as always looking over and admiring all the models of Horses no matter if they were in rough shape or show room quality, they are a testament of good old fashion American ingenuity and know how !! Thanks to everyone who brought out their Horses and to those who put this show together every year, it's the only time out of the whole year i take off work to do something for "me" that i enjoy doing, so again i would like to thank everyone for making this show happen each year! The only issue i seen with the show this year which i can totally understand is it seemed to be a lack of vendors selling Wheel Horse parts opposed to previous years which like i said ....I completely understand with fuel prices the way they are, hopefully , good Lord willing , next year will see us all through some better times. Thanks again folks for putting together another good show, Good Lord willing we will see you all next show..........God Bless

I think there were more people there this year than last. I got to meet a lot of people that I've interacted with here, but never talked to in person this year as well. I even, finally, got a decent yard trailer. Paint needs work, but the metal is solid, and unlike my last two dump trailers, its actual metal.

Don't think too bad of us, that live west of Indiana, that were planning to go. It was not only gas prices, but motels and restaurants that have priced us out of doing things like that. It's been a tough few years for a lot of us. It's getting harder to save money for trips when you are on a fixed income. You still look great in White Bill...and the show still looks great in Red...and I am feeling Blue not being there.

For you Steve ... it will be alright by me. Wheel Horse made 22,500 RJ models between 1958 and 1959, the only difference is the serial number. The first 20,000 was made in 1958 and the other 2,500 in 1959. The parts all interchange including the part number 3577 shifter boot that was used all the way to the end of production. Hey ya: know if we can think of another competition for our RJ-58's ..... I could win another cigar! Wild Bill in Richmond VA

Always a great time hangin' out with Jim. Unmatched hospitality at the Parsons. Not always of the camera mind but I couldn't resist trying to get some shots of a loon that was following us around while we were fishing. Jim thought he herd banjo's and decided to take a run up this creek to see where the noise was coming from. Truthfully the creek was the access from this lake to a few other lakes. Like Jim said we ate well on our trip. One night these super thick pork chops cooked over an open fire were on the menu. Learned some thing new about Jim on this trip., or maybe it's just a Navy thing. "Don't run Jim's boat a ground or he will bash you in the face with the butt end of a paddle." I took over the wheel to show Jim a secret fishing spot. Unfortunately I took the wrong path down the creek & got us hung up. Jim had a paddle in his hand trying to push us off from the front, I asked him to move to the back to shift the weight in the boat. While moving he slipped & I caught the paddle with my mouth. No major injuries, just a little bloody lip. Shook it off & continued on our way. Missed seeing everyone at the big show but had a great time on our fishing trip.

So grateful to be back at the Fairgrounds for the 2022 WHCC Show! It was rainy at first but the sight of all the red tractors and people who came to enjoy the show early made the long rainy trip worth it! Sun came out later and it was great to see the early attendees everyone and riding tractors around and getting ready for the tractor parade tomorrow! A peek at the raffle tractor is also included in the pics

I have 2 sets of NOS 8 inch front wheels. Need valve stems and bearings. They are for the 6 inch wide tires or wider. I think they’d be hard to mount 4.80s on . Just need washed and they’ll look like new. Asking 20 a set.

I had a close call on 68 three lanes. Someone in a white car was running up the slow lane dodging in and out of traffic. I started to move over to go around a car and I looked in the mirror and it was clear started to move over and they zipped across next to me. Had to do a little Joey Chitwood driving. The trailer whipped around a bit. I told TJ I looked and did not see anyone, and that is when TJ told me about the guy crossing two lanes. And the guy continued out ahead running at least 90 doing the same thing. I suppose he was "that person" Oh......and my favorite is the one where someone will come around you, cuts in close, then brake checks ya! But we made it okay and TJ got his second wind, and we went night swimming. I feel like a Pinata today. Just one cool thing to see on the way home. https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Sideling-Hill-Maryland-looking-northeastwardly-from-the-western-end-of-the_fig3_341736634

I believe the 2 on the end are "Bantam" tractors ,These tractors were actually produced back in the 1940's I think they were made in Indianapolis, Indiana, Copar Panzer also made similar tractors but theirs were more heavy duty than the Bantam tractors

Mrs. P is working on her megga load of show pics and videos. We slept on the turnpike near Freedom, OH last night and we’re ready to rock! Norman’s fluid levels are in perfect working order, a road trip first! He used to use a little oil on big pulls and would blow coolant out of the tank too. I have chalked that up to turbo pressure blowing past the injector cups and blowing coolant out of the tank. New injectors and cups have helped a lot of things!
