After a day of work I like to sit in the garage put some music on and have a cold one and look at these tractors. I am always amazed how simple these are made, but engineered very well. I have seen many other brands and how they are made but they are not like Wheel Horse. I am not taking away from the other brands but just the engineering or how they where made. Enjoy the site. Just my

A mate at the farm next door lifted it up onto the garden and off it went. It pulls the trailer full no problem at all. I even give the grass a quick cut. Unbelievable little thing👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Had a little fuel issue on my B-160. Turns out it was something in the line. It sat for a spell disconnected last summer as it waited for the fresh engine and I'm guessing that caused it. She purrs like a kitten again. Removed the weights for the summer and put the deck on. I put the 48" deck on the 2005 since it's my main mower and the 42" went on this one. Greased everything up and I'm good to go. Well, almost. I just ordered a new ignition switch. The original works fine but is so worn the key won't stay in.

In the back of the workshop I've had some iron garden seat ends, that I painted a few years ago. Finally decided to do something with them. So some beech beams from a ship I've also had lying around, (The beams not the ship), found their way to a neighbours who's a joiner. There they were cut into strips to make seat slats. I then gave them three coats of yacht varnish. Today I put everything to gether. Carol is well pleased as she likes a variety of places to sit. Next on the list was the bench we have out on the green. It was an old park bench that was given to us some years back. About 20 I think. I'd done it up then, but the years have taken their toll. That soon ended up like below with the aid of the chainsaw. So it looked like this. After a couple of hours it is now ready for some paint. To be continued.

Continuing my war against the Mole Army in my yard, and be cause of a nice heavy rain this morning I decided to flatten out the lawn again this afternoon. This time my C145 got to get some exercise. Of coarse my trusty co pilot Sophi had to come along for a ride. Best yet while I was flying around at glacial speed my wife strolled up along side me & said "this job looks like it requires a mixer". Score!! This prompted me to slow the tractor down & she had to chase me down 2 more times with a refill. Such a good woman I have! .

PaPaw decided to get Michael an early fourth birthday present. Came standard with a front weight, nice AGs, adjustable seat, and a hydro. So, you ready to see it? Forgive the color scheme..

Gave my towing/backup chore tractor a tune up. 310-8 with 10 pinion differential and ags. She has gotten lot of work as it is to soggy to use the big tractors. Spent a fair amount of time cursing the Kohler employee who stamped the timing marks on flywheels. I think he had a second job as the before model in Charles Atlas ads. Just once I would like to be able to find the marks with out having to pull the shroud (and coil and throttle linkage etc) get a wire brush to clean the wheel enough to find them then paint them then reassemble. Just getting all the little bolts holding it on aligned and started is a real pain. All of which takes a lot longer than actually adjusting the timing....

Run it, work it and maintain it! I think the worse thing for these machines is to be left sitting around unused. The rubber parts dry out, tires go flat or get a flat spot, seals give up, fuel system gets gunked. And although your 314H sounds nice I don’t think it’s managed to climb up to “collectible status”. Most all of us can find a clean 300 series machine for sale on Craigslist or Facebook. It’s the 50’s, 60’s and now the 70’s vintage machines that are getting rarer. So take good care of it but don’t be afraid to use it the way it was intended.

Actually there is no cell service at all over at the shop, it is at the foot of a mountain and the tower is on the other side. Besides, there is nothing wrong with my senior citizen flip phone!

Very sorry to hear that, that situation sucks. I imagine that nearly all of us have been there, i know i have. As said, shame on him for coming to an agreement and backing out of it. He would have gotten an ear full from me as well. Its just bad character to go against his word. FOUR HOURS?!! Wow. He should told you about the other offers before you made the drive. I am glad you didn't buy it, another will show up. I hope hes stuck with it. I had a deal recently that was one of the most profound experiences i have had with a facebook/craigslist deal. It was for a 4x4 ATV that was listed WELL below market value. It had electrical issues so i couldn't hear it run, but knew i had to be the first on the spot or i wouldn't get it. I caught the ad maybe 20 min after posting and got an address and a time. When i showed up, there was already a truck in the driveway and someone looking at it. The seller was the type that would give a bunch of people a place to be at the same time for a serious "first come, first serve" situation. After giving the seller a piece of my mind (politely i may add), the other buyer cut in and said "Hey, do you have your phone on you? Lets see who contacted him first, and whoever that was gets the quad. I've had this situation happen to me and dont want either of us to get screwed, i want to be fair". I beat him to the punch by about 10 minutes. He shook my hand and took off. It was one of the most stand-up things i have seen someone do and i will be damn sure to do the same for someone if the positions were reversed.

New to the forum. Helping my Dad fix his engine on a C-111 He can't mess with them anymore, but he is a great adviser. Attached some pictures. Working on the engine first, broken piston connecting rod. Would be grateful for sites to buy rebuild kits or parts.

Not Quite. The 1 3/4" gear shift knobs that Glenn Pettet sells are threaded for a 3/8" shift lever which fits everything but my beloved 953/1054 models which are a 1/2-13 thread. I needed something to securely hold the knob while I drilled and tapped it for the larger thread. I turned the 1 3/4" hole so the knob fit snugly then cut it in half with a table saw. The saw kerf allows the bolts to draw it up tightly and can be clamped to the drill press without harming the knob.

Trust me ethanol free is the way to go.That is all I use in the air cooled engines.I bought a 4stroke post hole auger last year and we used it and I put it up.I turned off the fuel and let it run until the fuel in the carb was gone.Turned on the fuel this year and it fired right up.I have had treated ethanol fuel destroy a Briggs carb in six months.Never again.Corn should be used to feed livestock and to make adult beverages only.Ethanol in gasoline may be good for the grain farmers in the Midwest but it is the dumbest thing adopted for fuel. It can't be shipped by pipeline so it has to be transported by rail or road.If not for the gov't support and if it's true price were reflected at the pump no one would buy the crap.

Life is short, enjoy it while your here, because when we leave this world we sure can’t take it with us. You don’t want to make it to a grand ol age and look back at never enjoyed your nice things. So again enjoy it while you can.

Turns out the guy was just 12 miles away. He wanted 250.00 for it but my trailer broke so he delivered it and I gave him 270.00 to help with gas. Then he told me he had stopped by Walmart and put a new battery in it but wouldn't take anymore. Found out a few days later that he was battling cancer for the second time and was selling off his collection. I told him it has a good home. I believe that is what he wanted to know. Everyone of these things have their story.

Sounds like that ol' boy had a fair pile o common sense. My grandmother was kind of funny. Used to irritate her to no end that little old ladies would drive so damn slow. Now mind you... she was probably 70 or older when she said that. She got to be about mid eighties I would say and she went and turned in her driver's license. She didn't want to be one of those...

I thought about that, and having Terry make up some decals, but it would’ve set back giving it to him lol. Now, he does have a sister that I can plan in advance for... Oh, he knows 😂😂 Last time I had that look of pure joy on my face was when they handed me my kids for the first time. He’s in hog heaven. I’ve got a few years yet, but I would like to find an old round hood to be his first REAL tractor. He was playing with it earlier, and said “This is the coolest toy ever!” I took that opportunity as a teaching moment: I explained to him that tractors are equipment, so that some jobs are easier. I then explained to him that we have to take care of our equipment, so that it will work properly. Now it’s the coolest equipment ever 😂

No thanks at all to Mike @squonk for not giving me dibs on a set of rims for sporting V-61's Well a little bit Mike that is one of your plug wires! If you wanted the wheels for that tractor Jim, I don't think they would have worked without using different spindles. Your wheels look like the ones on my 857 and the 604 wheels had a longer spindle. If you need more voltage from my plug wire. Remove it from the plug and hold the terminal to your tongue whilst cranking the engine. Keep cranking until you get the terminal good and wet then reinstall.

Tractors were built to work. There are a lot of other things that are meant to be eye candy.

A little notch on the flywheel would have been much too hard to do! If it was one of the older S/G model you would have had to pull the flywheel too.

My grandma is 93 and has never had a driver's license. The closest she got was moving the pickup around the huge front yard at their old farm when grandpa was at work. Very slowly...

Yup. Front running gear. Story time: he died in 1949 at 75 and only owned one vehicle. He wrecked that vehicle when one of my great-uncles touched him as he was concentrating on driving. He went back to his wagon after that.

Well, Michael got his first tractor yesterday, but we’ll have to forgive the color. PaPaw wanted to get him an early birthday present that he could have fun with before starting preschool in July. The nice thing about this is that the trailer has a 22lb limit, so he’ll be hauling plants and such for me with it. He kept saying “Just look at this bad boy.” 😂 forgive the mess, daddy’s gearing up for a garage sale this weekend

A bunch of current pictures, and a couple of what it used to look like. I'd like to thump someone on the head that thought that magnetic sign on the door was a good idea. As is typical for those signs, it "stuck" to some of the paint..... now there are places to fix on each door. Current needs: tinted windows, shocks, fix the wipers (went up and quit), get the rear window working, and figure out why the AC isn't working. It's a blast to drive, and it sounds really nice. Still has some kind of hot-rod shifter in it..... hard-shifting and strong. My intent is to get this thing to where I can use it for my drive-to-work car and let my pickup rest. It is a low-miles (140K) 1995 F250 PowerStroke. Would like to keep it mainly for pulling our travel trailer.
