9 pointsWell I had found out about this machine about a month ago. Finally was able to meet up with the guy this morning. He's got to move somethings so I can go pick it up. But wanted one for awhile and finally got one!!! It's ether a 1948 or 1949. Super excited to get it home and start playing with it.

8 pointsI added the hitch and built my own weight hanger. I planned to brace it off of the loader sub frame, and I still may, but it is really stout the way it is.

7 pointsSon got the 520 Wheel-a-Matic with the snowblower out and ready along with the Kubota BX2230 w/FEL and back blade . First time one of the Horses has been touched since last March. Don’t have a current pic but here’s one while it was patiently waiting. Will get some current pics tomorrow. Maybe some action shots or video depending how accurate the weatherman is .

6 pointsSo I recently picked up a 1991 520H and was looking forward to having full instrumentation, but the tachometer was non-functioning. After some troubleshooting (using this site), it appears as the actual tachometer is burnt up. After this discovery, I searched for a replacement and found this place selling new Toro tachometers (part #78-006) for a reasonable price. I haven't hooked mine up yet, but did receive it and looks perfect, Not my site, not my product. Just thought that I would share. https://www.marine-surplus.com/product/teleflex-marine-toro-0-4000-rpm-tachometer-gauge-78-0060/ -Scott

6 pointsI recently picked this tractor and loader up, haven't got to do much with it because of the weather. I bought it for the loader, I've been wanting one for a long time I even considered building one. I plan on putting the loader on my 520H (I'm currently waiting on a hydro pedal from Matt), this should be a nice set-up! The tractor it's on is a C-141 I was told, it's not a big enough tractor for a loader, the front axle's are already toed out and I can barely steer it and that's with nothing in the bucket. Does anyone recognize this loader, what brand? It seems well built and is self leveling.

6 pointsWell i got over to look at the 416H and saw that it did have an 48in deck, chrome hubcaps. Checked oil was good, hydro fluid was good, rear tires well I dont think I have ever saw a set so bald..lol. We put the key in it and after some cranking she fired up. Carb will need cleaning as we needed choke to keep it running at first. Top of hood is missing paint but all in all not a bad looking tractor. Has the mounts for a snow blade installed. I pointed out every thing I could find that was bad and then said if he would take 240.00 I would haul it away. Drove it up my ramps..(never again) as it pulled a wheelie half way up and he had to grab the front and yank it back down. But I think I did OK an with very little effort I can flip it this spring.

6 pointsI prefer to guess the amount. That way when I exaggerate a bit i don't feel like I'm stretching the truth. At least I don't know if I am. LOL

5 pointsThanks man! Groceries got. Gas on hand. Propane tank full. Wood stove happy. Just waiting for the flakes to start falling. I'll let her know to keep the camera fired up.

4 pointsHello all, Here in Western PA, ( about 30 miles North West of Pittsburgh), we are being told that we can expect anywhere from 10 to 18 inches of snow. It is to hit us around 0400Hrs Saturday and stick around until 1300Hrs Sunday. The more snow we get, the least chance of ICE. I hope we get ALL snow, ICE scares me. I will get some pics for you guys tomorrow Post some pics of your snow this weekend... PS. I see Eric in Maine is to get FEET of snow. His horses will get a workout. I hope that everyone stays safe, and enjoys the snow. .
-
4 pointsIts all I got Apparently 6 inches where I live, Like anyone cares Will update tomorrow night

4 pointsThe first time my wife saw snow (she was born and raised in Miami FL) she told her sister that we had a foot of snow because it was deep enough to cover her foot!
-
4 pointsThanks for the offer, but I actually bought 2 through the link. They look new and in perfect shape. I just need to get one hooked up now...

4 pointsWell I still don’t know what the future holds for “Rusty” but last night I cut the butchered hood and hinge off it and put the right grille back on it. At least it looks more like a gt14. The engine is froze up but I’m not sure if it is a valve hung up or if the piston is locked tight. Have to pull the head. May stuff the magnum 12 I have in it just to test the hydro. If thats good, there might be hope for Rusty yet.👍 Definitely can use it for patina practice.

4 pointsPeople that do this kind of thing are exactly the same ones that have a two car garage. With two cars. With them outside. Because the garage is stuffed full of crap.

3 pointsDell’s you know as well as I god works in mysterious ways and I’m sure there’s a lesson in there somewhere . Emory is tough kid and I have a feeling that he’ll pull through this . 3 pointsSadly Jim passed away back in 2006, his son has everything now and sadly it has went downhill, I can remember when it was still kept up and a lot of his pieces were still there, a lot of them are gone now and the place has been grown over in weeds and brush for years. Towards the end of this video you can see the old truck I hauled today back when it still had all its tires and maybe even still had the motor and transmission in it, I did snap a couple more pics while I was scrounging around for some blocks to put under the old truck, I figured y'all would really enjoy the homemade tractor, and the old crane is pretty cool too. Troy had big plans a few years ago that he and I were gonna get that crane running again, but he never could come up with the funding to make it happen. If I get a chance I'll try to get some more pics of the pieces that are still around there and share them with y'all

3 pointsHere's a video from the OKC news several years ago regarding one of the Jimmy Birds, it still keeps an eye on Gage from its perch on the water tower today
-
3 pointsMy 416-8 hangs quite a bit of weight off the back. Not sure how much the backhoe weighs but it's HEAVY (all 3/16" and 1/4" steel). Probably heavier than most hang off there and there hasn't been a problem yet. Plus the action of the hoe in use adds a bit more stress and can be abusive as well. Just support it properly and you should be good.

3 pointsGot the economy tractor running today. It took three people to get her pushed into the shop. WOW, heavy. Post some pics this weekend.

3 pointsThe one just posted in Redsquare classifieds. Drjarvis. Anyway, the 800 Commando is a nice straight machine. He kept the rear tires and seat and the front end is tight. Just a few electrical gremlins to solve. it runs pretty well. he wanted to keep some parts to get the price down for a quick sale, and I really did not need those Ag Tires and seat, so win-win A nice polite seller. And also a member here. He did mention what a terrific person vinylguy is and also some of the original forum members as well. So I am doing OK in my goal of having 3 working mowers by spring....

3 pointsI will upload some video for sure when I get it home. It sat in the tired iron tractor museum locally for awhile. The when they closed and auctioned everything off In 2012, the gentlemen bought it and he has had it since. So it's gonna need a good go over for sure. But I think it's gonna be fun!

3 pointsThis is how I added weights to my C-85, now she's a 'heavy weight !' This really helped, and made it much more useful! C-85
-
3 pointsThat's wicked cool Chris. Of course you know all of us children are going to want to see video.

3 pointsDenny: I see Webb Sickle Service in Nebraska changed their name to Webb Cutting Components, Inc. They still have the correct 2 inch replacement sickle bar mower blades that fit the Wheel Horse front cutter bars (for RJ's and Suburbans) and the 42 and 50 inch Wheel Horse sickle bars. FYI https://www.cuttingcomponents.com/jari-replacement-section-102500-2-w-x-2-13-16-h-3-16-hole-on-1-3-8-centers.html

3 points@pullstart You got a good woman and you can tell her I said so Alot of the time when people ask me a question like... Why would I want all my stuff under cover?.... I don't even bother to explain very much because I know they don't have the mindset to understand the answer. Generally speaking if you take care of anything you have, it obviously is going to last longer on average. We view the things that we have as long-term Equipment. These are repairable 'n maintainable not disposable. If someone looks at the things that we are using and sees it as just an old tractor you tell them to stop asking silly questions and go to a big box store so they can buy a lawn mower.

3 pointsDoes anybody else have a beaver! The garden tractor that is! I have 3 of them. They were my late dads! They are the most unique tractors. My late dads family had them when he was a kid! the last 2 photos are my grandpa henry bottjer pulling my dad around when he was a kid, then my great grandpa pulling him around. I have a rope start, electric start, and one with a hood and steering wheel! The tractors i have are from the 50's and early 60's if i remember correctly. My late adopted dad was born in 1962.

3 pointsIn the gutter as usual. There is a nice write about Beavers in the latest issue of LAGT for those interested.

3 pointsSad to see things go to rot .! The world we live is what I call a disposable world. They would sooner go buy a new rather to take care of what they have or even repair!

2 pointsSomeone shoulda raised some funds to get tags on that truck and let the councilmen turn red in the face 👍
-
2 pointsThat I will do, I have two other tractors with Onan engines in them. They are older engines a 74 & 76 and are 16&18 hp. I have had really good luck with them, they do require more attention than others. But the sound and torque on them is really something. My 18 hp Onan pulls my 10 in moldboard plow, I'm running two straight pipes out of it. You can hear me plowing from 1/4 mile away.

2 pointsI've heard somewhere between 11-17" for me . We've only had a couple serious storms, both left about a foot on the ground. Its either a dusting or dumped on.
-
2 pointsI just got the snowblower out, still hearing mixed totals for nj, then ice and then it's supposed get really cold fast. Florida is looking better everyday
-
2 pointsLooks like all it needs is a good wash and decal set. rims and tires look great that's a huge plus with those $$$
-
2 points... @cschannuth its funny how those Carlisle Tru-Powers and my OTR Lawn Trac R1s (which BTW are fluid filled as well as 70# of iron weights inside and out) look very similar on the 520s ...also has done VERY well without chains pushing snow since changing them from the NANCO AGS.
