    My Dad bought this tractor used circa 1969. It’s been in our family since then (with an partial restore in the mid ‘70s) and I fully inherited it when I retired in 2012. My brother and I spent the last year tearing her apart, repainting her parts, getting new parts when needed, and getting new decals for her. It was a labor of love and a tribute to our Dad. I won’t inundate you with the myriad pictures we took: here is the before and after photos. Thanks to this forum for the guidance. Speical thanks to Shynon for the center cap for the steering wheel. Kudos to Ken Bergren, Inc in Williamsport, PA for the help with various parts.

    Taking advantage of the nice day Saturday, I put winter gear on a couple tractors. The 753 had it's blade installed, and of course I had to try it out. I was really pleased with the power the 753 had pushing the leaf piles back into the fence row. A 6.5 hp clone engine is currently installed while I rebuild the original K161 7 hp.

    I joined back in September, but I’m just now seeing this section. My name is Kyle Lengerich, I’m happily married to my wife, Sara, and we have two children, Michael who is 3, and Olivia who is 10 months. We live just south of Indianapolis, in the suburb of Greenwood. I was born in California, but have lived in Indiana (with the exception of my enlistment) my entire life. Im the oldest of three children, my younger siblings are autistic but at different points on the spectrum. I’m a White Star Son (White Star, similar to Gold Star (KIA), Silver Star (Wounded) and Blue Star (Deployed), symbolizes a veteran/ Service member who has taken their own life). I served in the Marines from January 2009- January 2013, was stationed at Camp Foster, Okinawa Japan, Camp Pendleton California, and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012 (Camp Leatherneck, Helmand Province). I was Honorably Discharged at the rank of Corporal (E-4). I am currently a stay at home dad to our two children. Aside from that, I am also a property manager for a rental property. My knowledge of mechanics is limited, but I have been learning a great deal here on Red Square. My other interests include gardening, wine making, leatherworking, wood working, firearms, fishing, photography, aquarium keeping, genealogy, and gaming. I am a lifetime member of the Veterans Of Foriegn Wars, but without a home post (by choice). I have enjoyed being a part of this forum, as I’ve come acrossed many good folks here. I look forward to being around as long as you’ll all keep me! 😂

    Her response was “I’ve never been to Pennsylvania” so she started looking for what else is around. We’ll be making a day trip to Gettysburg from the sound of things, and maybe touring some wineries if we can (she drinks it, I make it, so we’d both be interested in that). We dont live pay check to paycheck, but we don’t have hundreds extra sitting around every two weeks either, so we’ll see what we can do, but I really hope to get out there this coming summer.

    I picked this up recently. It’s a 1961 international harvester c120 3/4 ton with a Chevy 350 and a turbo 400. This is my first vehicle and after a lot of time and money this will be my daily driver and my horse hauler.

    Frame trimmed up, trans/frame bolted together. Got some lug nuts and put the rear wheels on so I can move it. Actually fits pretty good. Can’t even tell there is a hydro under there.

    OK, you asked for it! Understanding Automotive Lingo: 101 Much like the garden tractor hobby you’ve probably noticed that "car people" seem to have their own language and understanding them may occasionally require an interpreter. Automotive lingo certainly isn't intuitive, but with a little time and effort, you can become fluent in the native language. Here are some common car terms to help you get started The lines drawn between many types of cars and trucks are a bit blurred from time to time and many vehicles can cross over to a few different classifications. Depending on the group you are addressing the same vehicle will be classified in different terms. As an example, my 1948 Ford Pick-up could be considered a Street Rod, a Custom (Kustom Kemp) or a Leadsled. It is NOT a Muscle Car, Classic, a Hot Rod, a Restorod or a Rat Rod. Street Rod; A street rod is a vehicle manufactured prior to 1949, that has been modified for travel on today's highways. These street rods are designed and presented by their owners based on their vision and personal taste. Each street rod build should reflect the vision and pride that the owner/builder has in their car. Custom; A vehicle that has had its appearance modified according to the builder’s taste. It can be Mild or Wild! Kemp; slang word used by ‘50s and ‘60s teens meaning a car or truck. A Kustom Kemp was one that had been customized. The word “kemp” gained notoriety on TV when Ed “Kookie” Burnes used it often on “77 Sunset Strip”. You young pups will just have to look that one up! Leadsled; A vehicle that has been lowered (the lower the better) and has had its body lines smoothed including the removal of door handles and trim pieces. Most Leadsleds will also have a chopped top. Some Leadsleds will wear a shiny custom paint job and others will be adorned in a suede finish (flat paint job, frequently flat black). Classic; There doesn't seem to be a consensus when it comes to the definition of classic cars. The Classic Car Club of America identifies them as fine or distinctive cars manufactured between 1925 and 1948. However, a broader definition, which is widely accepted among car clubs, collectors, and hobbyists, is: vehicles 25 years and older. Hot Rod; Similar to the street rod, the hot rod is an automobile of 1948 or earlier that has undergone some modernization to the engine, trans mission, interior, or anything else. A hot rod has a more "souped up" engine because it is designed for racing. The engine is often exposed. RestoRod; A classic car that has retained its general appearance but has been updated with a multitude of modern parts, such as improved suspension, electronics, new drive train technology, and creature comforts. Rat Rod; The term "rat rod" refers to an unfinished appearance of a hot rod. Basically a hodge-podge of car parts. When a part does not work or needs to be replaced, you don't go to the store to buy a new piece, you simply find it from another vehicle ore whatever and attach it. Frequently a collection of non-automotive parts like old wrenches, horseshoes, chains and other “Found Items” will be used as bumpers, door handles, steering wheels etc. Muscle Car; Some believe the GTO was the first muscle car, but others argue that early Chrysler 300s were the first cars to flex their muscles. Regardless of which car was the first, it is widely accepted that medium-size cars built in the '60s and early '70s, that have high performance engines and light-weight bodies, are muscle cars. These are not the only classes of collector cars, they are just the ones being covered in this thread. If I didn’t include your favorite, please feel free to tag onto this. Within each sub-group you can find a huge variety of options. I will list a few. § Pro-Touring, Pro-Street -- If a vehicle is pro-touring or a pro-street, then it has received performance enhancements to make it extremely fast, frequently including oversized rear tires, but still legal to drive on the street. § Clones, Tributes, Continuations -- Clones, tributes, and continuations are all terms to describe vehicles that have been modified from stock configurations to resemble a special model edition for that vehicle. Two examples of these vehicle types are: creating a Shelby look-alike from a base mustang, and modifying a standard Road Runner into a Superbird. § Pony Cars -- The original pony cars were Ford Mustangs, but other high-performance vehicles, such as Barracudas and Camaros, are also considered pony cars. Typical characteristics of these American four-seater sports cars are long hoods and short decks (trunks). § Chopping , Channeling -- Removing a section of the upper part of the vehicle's body to achieve a narrower window opening is called chopping. Lowering a vehicle's body without changing the suspension is called channeling. § Fuely -- A fuely car is one that uses fuel injection instead of a carburetor to regulate gas supplied to the engine. § Deuce Coupe -- A Deuce Coupe is a customized 1932 Ford two-seater. § Three on the Tree -- When a car has a three-speed transmission lever mounted on the steering column, it is said to have three on the tree. § Rag Top -- A convertible car is otherwise known as a rag top. § Blown (i.e., a blown vehicle) -- If a supercharger has been installed between the fuel delivery system and intake manifold of the motor, then the vehicle is referred to as Blown. § Woodie -- A vehicle of choice for surfers on outings to the beach, a Woodie is a '40s or '50s station wagon, with a wooden body or exterior wood trim. § T-Bucket -- A T-Bucket is a Model T Ford that has been stripped of fenders and engine cowling, and has been upgraded with a V8 engine. § Suicide Doors -- Doors that are hinged toward the rear and open facing forward are called suicide doors. § Frenched Headlights -- Headlights that have been customized by recessing the lens inside the headlight bucket are referred to as Frenched Headlights. § Dual Quads -- If an engine has two four-barrel carburetors, then it has dual quads. § Six Pack -- A vehicle has a six pack if it has three two-barrel carburetors installed on its engine. § Tubbed Out -- A car has been tubbed out if a major modification has been made to the rear wheel wells so that very wide tires can be installed. § Trailer Queen --Cars driven sparingly, and only for very short distances, are called Trailer Queens. Typically, these vehicles are transported by trailer, whenever possible. § Matching Numbers Vehicle -- For the purist, to be a matching numbers vehicle, original, factory-installed components would have to be in chassis. A somewhat looser definition for a matching numbers vehicle would be one that has the correct, matching date code stamped on both the drive train components and the chassis.

    Hello, and thank you for your service to your family and your country! I always wanted to be a stay at home dad, but it wasn’t to be. I was Mr. Mom when I wasn’t at work, though! I wish I had a dollar for every diaper I changed.... five kids. I tell people that I could do everything except have them! Especially good at calming the kiddos when they were getting shots! Now that’s a good skill to have! Keep up the good work!

    Got a bit more done over the last couple of days. That's it for the time being. Give the paint some time to cure then get some wheels on. I can get it off the lift then and that'll give me room to get on with the other parts.

    just added a screw on round plastic knob with brass threaded insert to my snow blower chute turn rod , only a matter of threading with die nut on the end of the rod handle. picked up knob at my local true value store, nice smooth improvement. next I added two heavy springs to my blower lift rod , pulling just under the lower front hood area, on frame head , much easier to lift, these assist the back of rod spring. still moving things around to get it like I want. pictures to show

    Gonna go pick up the 1974 C160 w/rear discharge deck, a front blade, an aerator, mid and rear cultivator, wheel weights /chains, and a MacKissic hammermill chipper/shredder that is made to attach to the tractor! The lady I am getting it from is giving me the tractor for having helped her with several things (including getting the tractor running), but I will pay her for the attachments (or she might be open to bartering for my future handyman services.... I hope, I hope, I hope!!!) Her husband passed away about this time last year. We all met when he was in hospice and was in a room next to another friend of mine. We talked a lot about garden tractors and gardening. His wife says I remind her a lot of her late husband..... lots of shared traits, I guess. She is happy that I will be keeping the Wheel Horse in good condition and will keep using it to garden. Got my 6x10 trailer emptied this morning, got a good battery and jump box, a gas can, and ramps loaded. But first..... need to continue my “nurse” duties..... wife had knee surgery 2 weeks ago..... need to help her with some stuff before I can go play!!!

    I'd call it a stock matching numbers 1984 El Camino SS Choo Choo! Man I feel old. I'm older than most of these trucks. Worked on or used a lot of them and retired from auto repair before some of these were produced!

    I would like to add a couple things to the above...PRO TOURING is really more about handling especially timed slalom courses where the suspension and sometimes the entire chassis/frame is changed out in the quest of "driving on rails" (also wearing low profile wide tires on plus sized wheel diameters on all 4 corners as well as upgraded larger diameter brake rotors and 4-6 piston calipers) through twists and turns and cones pulling as many lateral "Gs" without flipping said vehicle truck or car and should NOT be lumped with the PRO STREET style of vehicles which are more of a street legal Drag Car that has been TUBBED or fitted with a narrowed rear axle/suspension and extremely wide rear tires commonly referred to as "steam rollers" for superior traction off the starting line for 1/8-1/4 mile blasts, and running very narrow front tires for less rolling resistance in a straight line...again just adding to the above and more of my experiences of the past nearly 30 years, Jeff.

    I've got 2 of Jim's stacks. One is on an 8hp and the other on a 16hp, love the sound of both of them. Make sure you let him know what you want them for, it does make a difference. Now back to you regular station.

    I’d seen your most recent post, and the response to it from the community is kind of what compelled me to make this one. Right before I found this forum I’d deactivated my FB account because it had become such a toxic thing. On FB, where I only friended blood family and people I actually cared to keep in touch with, I wouldn’t post such a thing anymore. I picked up on the wholesomeness (for lackof a better word) of the folks here right from the beginning. I don’t know more about what’s going on with Emory than what I read from your last prayer request, and it’s not something that one askes a stranger. I can hear my moms voice “It’s not polite to pry!”, but you and your family have been in our thoughts as well.

    Well, All I did was put a seat on it, but something else happened.... I’m just getting my feet wet with these tractors as most of you know, but most everything I’ve done is with our Mystery 8hp/3spd, or “Hank” (The Square “Face”/Front end, as good a shape as its in for its age, and the lens cover looks like square framed glasses to me, so it’s name in honor of Hank Hill😂) We haven’t really touched the Charger 10 we bought except to pull the trailer it came home on back to where it normally sits. We got it mainly for the 42in Plow that came with it. With the spring seat on it, I sit too high and too close to the steering, so it wasn’t comfortable. Because it wasn’t comfortable, I didn’t really feel one way or the other about it. The other day I swapped the seats (above I believe) and tonight while organizing the new shop, I decided the best way to get the loose seat out of my way was to put it on a tractor. After I got it on, I sat down and this tractor felt and looked completely different to me. Now I had to find a way to talk the wife into letting me try and keep it. They all came out to check on me, and I showed the Misses that I got the seat on. “I haven’t even really looked at this one” “Well, hop on it baby.” She sat down and after a second she started to crack a smile. Hook, line, and seat... I mean sinker. “I could drive that.” She said on the way back in with the kids. Now I need another one... can’t let the wife have more horses under the hood than me😂

    If seen a couple interesting good ornament replacements/ up grades, and this image popped up with a link to a long dead (2013) Im not finding much of anything now. Anyone know where to find different/ unique good ornaments? Anyone have anything interesting?

    Got a Gator Products tonneau cover from RealTruck.com and had some time to get it put on. Fitment is good, but there were broken pieces in the box and I had to contact the manufacturer for replacement pieces. After installation, I figured out the prop rod clip is broken too, so I’ll call Monday for a replacement. I guess this means no more 4 horse haulin’ for the Colorado... without some more creative loading!

    Ha, uh- doh... I lost my password on youtube. What's happen today? So i begun with a handsome Breakfast and sorted all parts i have together - my Car was completely full. First issue was finally to seperate the Belts. the Enginebelt fits perfectly, as i measured and hoped. to get the Belt to friction, i set an additional Pulley as feed roll. No slip at all at the whole Hydraulics, even cylinder hits their endpoints. Yap - success! Then i mounted an Fuel Tank sensor, also a found Combiinstrument with Fuel level and RPM. everything works nicley, except the Instrument was for 2Stroke motorcycles, so the value of RPM has to be halved. As pulse pin, i used simply the Kill switch line of Magneto, this works perfectly. - looks pretty cool - i think. Just the Belt for the Gear was bit tooo long. I missted the Value at Order, but hoped, i can get it to work. No chance at all. then i cutted the Old belt and use it as template, to find the exactest value i need. i found it must be 1210-1225mm, then it fit's perfectly and gear is back in Service. View of the Belt - yes, i know wrong side, but i must remove the Belt from Screw (lower left) it was hit. As i told not much place to dealin with. The feed pulley mounted with an M6 Screw but enhanced by an 18mm Spacer, for Stability. I think it looks real cool with RPM, maybe i made a small pcb to half the Values... but Fuel gauge is the important issue, i did it for. Will wait for my accound confirming, to upload the "Horse Bark" 😅

    @stevasaurus i was just getting ready to shoot you a message! 😂 its funny that that’s the way things go, because that was my tentative plan 😂 thanks for for the heads up, I think the more we talk about it the more excited she gets, so if we can get the cash lined up we should be there. Only thing I have to worry about now is the size of the trailer I pull

    A lot of us get to the motel that Wednesday afternoon and hit the show grounds Thursday morning. Thursday is a set up day, but it has become a part of the show itself. The show is Friday and Saturday...done Saturday afternoon. For Gettysburg, we stayed an extra day and spent Sunday there and then started heading home on Monday. For you...taking the south route (no tolls) is the way to go. Should take about 10 hours if you drive it all the way. The winery is close enough to the show, that you can skip out for a few hours and make the trip to the winery. Adam's County Winery is our favorite. Web site::: https://www.adamscountywinery.com/
