4 pointsThere were over 2 dozen wild ponies on the beach today on Assateague island state park (Maryland) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

4 pointsI got everything painted and ready to go(except a few small parts are not done yet). I just need 1 more coat of paint on the fenders and hood and we will be in good shape. Transmission is going back together tomorrow and a few other things. I got some amazing lug tires off ebay. They are Carlisle farm specialists 6-12 and the lugs are huge(1" tall). And they are quite thick at 6 ply. Also got some tri rib tires for the front. I ended up using rustoleum farm equipment paint in the quart can and bought some majic paint hardener and they work amazing together. The paint gets extremely hard in just 1 night. Here's a few pics!

2 pointsTwo weeks, picked up another 5 gals of 100LL Non-Ethanol gas at the local airport. The Kohlers never gave me a problem but, I'm diligent using Berrymans, Seafoam, and Sta-Bil in the fuel. The Briggs (16 hp Work Horse) and Onan (520-8) did give me some fuel problems, gone now. Seems all my engines run better with the 100LL Non-Ethanol. Could this be true or am I just relishing the seal time? I recently picked up an Allis-Chalmers B-10. Ran well but, put a 16 hp Kohler on it. Then, guess I'm losin' it, picked up a Pennsylvania Panzer. Pushed the recently acquired Wagner in the corner. For the two old guys I figured non-ethanol would be best. Retired, too much time on my hands and besides the grandsons want seat 'n shop time. Yesterday we visited a long lost relative. Had a well maintained, no longer used Horse in his barn. Guess I can find room in my barn, I'm part German, for the Renault powered D-250. I'm losin' it but there's no cure for WHA (Wheel Horse Addiction).

2 points1st, this is proof that the Flamingo did follow me home from the Big Show. 2nd, I wanted to take a picture of the Afghan that Squonk won and gave to my wife Chris. Karen (kthack657) made and donated this to the raffle at the Big Show...which makes it that much more special. Thanks Karen and Mike. 3rd, the 876 that I picked up from SmokinJoe. It is sporting it's new choke cable, lift lever adjustment and flywheel / generator guard.

2 pointsmost of the smaller grease fitting will take a 5/16'' wrench or socket to take off you can buy new fittings at a farm store or auto parts store i always like to replace old ones with new ones because they seem to seal up better with my grease gun and get the grease inside what ever im trying to grease instead all over the outside and they look good

2 points1.) The PTO-to-Deck belt has to be on the INNER-MOST 'V' of the PTO pulley...that is, the V closest to the engine. 2.) Use only the OEM belt (s/b 102742) The aftermarket belts do not EXACTLY match the contour of the Wheelhorse V pulleys leading to drag & premature failure 3.) Either straighten that pulley, or replace it. (I have replacement pulley7s for 42 or 48 " decks). 4.) Check BOTH of the idler pulleys on the MULE DRIVE. If either one drags at all, or wobbles more than little, replace it (I have those too). 5.) Are you CERTAIN that the deck is hung correctly? There is a right and a wrong way to hang it. Check with the DECK manuals on-line in this forum.

1 pointHi all, new to the forum seen but not to wheel horses. I have a B80 with a 14hp kohler swapped from a no name 14 8speed and a C175 with a series 2 replacement engine. They are used almost nonstop on my farm for mowing grading pulling and so on. My son is a member here known as bert, some of yall may know him. He had asked me if we could use the farm for a red square southern meet n greet location and I thought it was a great idea and wanted to join the group and say hello.

1 pointCan anyone help me with identifying what year this tractor is i just picked it up last weekend. It runs very well just need a new air filter. This is the only tag i can find on it.

1 pointEureka! Lawn cutting succes with the super C. Albeit only a couple passes. The real test will be in a few days when the lawn requires a cut. I replaced the Clutch and bearings on the PTO. Also found an old thread where Baerpath suggested roughing the friction material as it had glazed appearance and followed suit. Now the deck cuts like a dream! Still getting used used to the higher center of gravity. I am starting the thread by i-phone for first time and will try and upload the pic of the C195 at work....since lawn was under control. Also my c161 and one of the GT14's.....

1 pointI went and got the lawn ranger out of storage so thought I would post sum pics it poured rain on me about the time I started loading it uphttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/09/52c2b1de7ee2490d7622ec0c3c9d970c.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/09/43b58136e2a9e1de7c00f52c9293a634.jpg]

1 pointThanks Mike - it was nice to finally meet you! Your T-shirts were a big hit - and I have to agree with Ed- the 'Here's Craig' T-shirt really did make it easier to find Craig! Wishing blue skies and sunshine for all member events! Thank you! Linda

1 pointWish I could help with the manual, but my welcome message will push this to the top and perhaps a member who can help will see your question on the second go round.Took a look in the manuals section and found a few ARC loader. On the home page you will find a "Manuals" area, look under "Attachments" and you will probably find what you need.
-
1 pointNot going off the serial number but I would say 63 because of the steering wheel and clutch pedal. 62 used a different pedal, and 64 had a different wheel.
-
1 pointActually,I think the thread size is 1/4-28.Which is 1/4 fine thread bolt threads.
-
1 pointA word to the wise.If you're going to stay in the old tractor hobby for any length of time, buy a grease fitting assortment.I guarantee you'll use them from time to time. You can buy the assortment from places like Tractor Supply and Northern Tool.
-
1 pointYou know what they say John, "when it rains, it pours". Glad you are on the mend. Sorry for the hood damage. Let me know when you are feeling up to it and we can get together for coffee and a t-shirt delivery.

1 pointThese new Tecumseh knock off carbs pretty much, perform flawlessly right out of the box...truly, plug & play here. Just pick your price point...but, CYA by ensuring it originates from a US based seller. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2055119.m570.l1311.R1.TR2.TRC1.A0.H1.Xtecumseh+h70+carb.TRS0&_nkw=tecumseh+h70+carburetor&_sacat=0

1 pointMostly just the name and what engines/transmissions were available. The 520 was a bit of a unique beast with different hood, gauges, tire size, swept axle and gearing reduction steering, but at its core was exactly the same frame and transmission as the 400's. Most everything is swappable from one to the other but you just might have to swap some extra parts to make it work.

1 pointive had worse lookin horses that turned out to be great tractors
-
1 pointYou are finding WH's right & left at that salvage yard! Thanks for the photos.
-
1 pointIf you can remove the hub from the axle, you could lay the wheel outside up and hit the hub with a solid object to loosen it from the wheel. It would make damaging any internal trans parts much less likely than trying to pry or hammer the wheel off mounted to the tractor.Luk,JAinVA

1 pointI think I have a spare lighter laying around here...just need to make sure the circuit is good.. Horsefixer gave me 2 mower decks for it, for hauling out that blower for him. One is a 32" and one is a 36". I am just about to go out there and see what kind of shape they are in. They look real nice. Thanks Bob.

1 pointHere is the IPL for your horse transmission. It has Wheel Horse numbers in it. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/3515-tractor-1975-c-160-auto-iplpdf/ You will have to buy some of the gaskets from TORO or make your own. The cross reference thread pinned at the top of this section is really for manual transmissions, although some of the axle seals and maybe brake seal may cross. You might be able to match the old ones up if you take them to NAPA or (my favorite) Motion Industries. If you could, maybe we could do another PDF of what you find and add it to the cross over thread. You might also contact daveoman1966. If he does not have a kit, he probably has the cross over numbers. Send him a PM.

1 pointThere's no question that using a gun is better but you'd be amazed at the quality of a rattle can job if done properly and conditions are just right. This Commando doesn't look like this anymore but it has held up better than I expected considering it's been used hard by my grandson. I'm sure a gun job with hardener would have held up better though.

1 pointGetting everything all cleaned up and ready for paint and hopefully order all the bearings and seals tomorrow. I have used some paints in the past but have not been impressed by the durability of it or the long lasting color. It looked kind of faded even just being out in the sun a few times here and there. It was very cheap paint but what do you recommend? Thanks
-
1 pointIt worked amazing! I just cut a little slit for a screw driver in the end of the broken bolt and did the battery thing and it came right out! Thanks so much Garry! I am not worried about the broken off ear on the cast iron case. Here's the video. https://youtu.be/9eICuoKmLeQ
