This was my 2nd trip up there to the "big show" and it was just as awesome as the first time I went. I didn't bring any tractors home, but I saw some cool stuff, and got a lot of miscellaneous parts for the ol' WH shelf, and most of all I got to see some old friends and meet new ones! big 12" meats on the back Cool vintage bicycle headlights. Pretty much the most awesome vintage sign ever. This was for sale at Dale's. I'll have one one day! White walls!! Shoo-fly pie! Mmmm! Craig test driving/cutting his wife's new A-81 from Jay. This is John's (wallfish) 401. I got to ride it around a little bit and it was so cool! Ice cream social Friday A little sun set action This is what it looked like on Saturday morning at 6:00am Looks like Rich's 953 was following me in bumper to bumper traffic on I-95 going home!

Just picked up my lift cable for my 953 from Wheelhorseman1000. He can make custom lengths and these things are strong! He really did his research on these and made a couple improvements like a plastic lined cable tube. Just wanted to share these and say thanks Lowell!

Well since retiring MJ has had me pretty busy so we elected not to go to this years show. One because of the time, and the other is because we have been spending a lot of money on building materials for the projects we have been doing around the house. At Last years show I talked to Rich Wilson and he told me he had a tall chute blower for sale. After the show we talked on facebook and we agreed on a price and I paid him for the Blower. After a couple transports fell through I asked Stevasaurus If he could transport it to my place on the way home. My buddy came through for me as always! Thanks Steve. Him and Chris came by and we had a GREAT VISIT. MJ and I enjoyed that very much. It's always good to see our Pals. After unloading the spare back up blower. I showed him around the DUKE"O"MINIUM and of course he had to get in and fire up the Ole Snow Chucker and hear that Onan Purr. Here are some Pics. Oh by way.... one thing that I didn't like was this Looney Tune FLAMINGO he brought with him! Darn thing went over by our pond and tried to violate our Blue Heron Crane!! And if that wasn't enough that thing tried the same to our Peacock and my Horse's!

this was that kind of year for me. Got the parts I needed for my new 876...the fly wheel/generator guard, choke cable, the lift lever adjustment mechanism, 2 mower decks...but then I got a bunch of fun stuff...a shopping bag full of airline size bottles of glen Lveitt's scotch, 3 collectable dinosaurs, 1 pink flamingo, 3 T-shirts, show plaque, 2 bottles of homemade port and 1 distilled bottle of heaven, 13 jars of homemade jellies, 3 bags of homemade cookies, 1 bag of red popcorn, 40 lbs of Bing Cherries to make wine with, and 1 (5025) transmission....I think that is it...OH YAH...and a ton of great memories. The Cherries are going to make about 17 gallons of Cherry wine.

I assembled some of my turning brake parts that I have collected. Some parts have been restored while others have not. This is only part of my collection as I also have turning brakes on my D-180, and I failed to include a disc in this display. Most are Wheel Horse' however, some are from a Cub Cadet. All parts from Wheel Horse are comprised of parts from an 18 Automatic {Turning Brakes model # 8-1901} or "D"-Series. Even Though there are some differences in parts most could be interchanged with little or no modification. The Secondary Bracket from an 18 Automatic was wider and beefier, than those made for subsequent models, as well as, those used on the Cub Cadets. Notice the two on the right {above} have a thicker metal than the one on the left. You may also notice that the two from the 18 Auto did not have the little flat bar {or two} welded onto the bottom. The 4 shoulder bolts on the 18 Auto were 3/4" longer than those on the latter systems. {middle and lower right} The long rod and the short rod remained the same, but the medium rod was assembled with a footrest stop welded to the end, on the latter models. This is a picture of the early style rods. The pedal pivot assembly on the latter models had a cut-away portion {to retain grease} at the point where the pedal attaches. {Middle left} The pedals on the 18 Automatics had only one hole each; whereas, those on the latter models had two holes each. The Brace Assembly on the latter models had an extra support bar welded on to attach under the footrest, those on the 18 Automatics did not have this bar. The rubber material for the pads were different as well, and followed the same material as used on the footrest. The latter brake mounting plates had a piece of angle welded to the upper side, the earlier brake mounting plates did not have this angle. The early shafts had only a 1/4" diameter pin to secure the arm, while the latter models used a 5/16" roll-pin. This hole size was the same for the holes in the arms, respectively. The two shaft bearings were wider on the 18 Automatics than on the later models. Part #'s for the discs are different; however I do not know why. The 18 Automatic parts list only lists one size for the Spring Anchor Plates, while the latter models list two additional thicknesses in the parts list, presumably to be used on an as needed basis dependent on the need. The plate assembly {with the pad} has a different part # between the early and later models, but here again I do not know what the difference might be. I will "STOP" right here as I have already said more than I know about these, Mark.

It was great to finally meet so many of the great Red Square members at my first Big Show! Everyone was so friendly and there were so many great tractors and things to see and do-it was really a fun day! I actually got so caught up in the excitement of the show that I bought my first tractor from JayinNC- a WH A-81 mower - within 10 minutes of getting there! Thank you very much for your hospitality! Sincerely, Mrs. Rules (Linda)

I drove a few hours out to the Poconos from Central PA to pick up a 417-8 Speed a gentleman had here on RedSquare in April. I've been putting hours into it and fixing/painting/shining it up. Bought a set of decals for it from Vinylguy and have the engine purring real well with a new set of points and a condenser, carb cleaning, new fuel lines and filter and new plugs. Some wires and ends fixed. A new tie-rod end and front bearing and the seat is getting reupholstered. The muffler lost it's chrome except for the tip which I tried to save! (Not sure I like that yet)! Compression is 97 - 96 PSI. It's a 1986 with 1280 hours on the working clock. Still need to do the rims and swap tires with a better non-cracked pair of turfs. It actually looks too nice to mow with but it will be a worker. Maybe just not as hard as my 310 and 416! I like knowing this KT engine has some oil pressure inside it! Before and Afters. (Picture heavy). I chopped the resolution a little so I didn't kill anyone's weak broadband. Wanted to get to the big show since I'm a hair less than 2 hours away from it but it isn't going to happen this year! Again!

I was hoping to get a good pic of me with the Hitch Hiker sign during the cruise. I lifted this from Facebook. Craig is just leaving and saying goodbye. Lot's of Cheese Cuttin with the windows up on the way home! If anyone has a better pic, please let me know!

Had a great time out at the show this year. I brought home some transmissions, a couple engines, just a few odds and ends. and on the way home got a call from a friend who had a suburban 400 he wanted to sell, so ended up picking it up on the way home. Its not in the greatest shape and someone repainted it not very well but is all there.

Well, here are the pics that I took this year. I had a wonderful time this year! I'm so glad that the weather cooperated on Saturday. It was great to meet a bunch of you and to see some absolutely awesome tractors! I almost forgot to take any pictures because I kept pretty busy, but I decided to set aside a bit of time to take some pics before I took none!! Enjoy guys!

Even though I wasn't able to attend, I somehow managed some goodies from the show this year. Thanks to dad for making the trip to come out and hang out with all of you guys.....he had a great time by the way! Mainly maintenance items........ Headlight buckets, battery trays, shifter boots, choke cables, tail light lenses, PTO brakes, floor mats, some smaller clips, and of course this year's show t-shirt. The fun purchase was a new sign from Ron Greco that is now proudly displayed in the Mehlberg Horse Barn. It killed me not to be out there with you guys this year......but the plans are already being made to be there in 2016. Looking forward to it already!!!

Karl, I just watched this video...and as I was watching I was thinking that there must be a way to improve the quality. Bear with me here. You are walking around and I was thinking...there must be a way to see where the lap top is pointed, (it always seemed to be on the low side). OK...what would be the next critique?? And about 4 minutes into the video, I realized..."This is so cool...you got up early...walked around...could not be sure of the results...had conversations with people...and just had an idea and went out and did it." I think if they did a DNA check with you and Woody Allen...you guys are sharing the same genes. I know...you know what I am trying to say here.

In case you missed the announcement, the feature tractor for the 2016 WHCC show is "Customs" . The only stipulation is that it is based on a Wheelhorse or Toro/Wheelhorse tractor. Over the years we have seen thousands of them, and look forward to gathering them all in one place! As always there will be no judging or trophies, but it promises to be an epic show. The raffle tractor for 2016 is also going to be a custom tractor. Many thanks to the club members who have already donated parts and offered ideas. On a personal note, anyone that knows me, knows that I am beyond thrilled that this has finally become a reality. What started as an idea several years ago quickly gained support from many of you, and that's what made this possible. I'm looking forward to what all of the creative minds and hands can come up with.

I am so fortunate to have been able to make it to the WHCC show. I spoke with a lot of you, both members and non-members of RS and one thing we all agreed on. The WHCC show is really a first class production. No one could think of another show which is as well run as this one is, from Bill and his famous white pants and red shirt to the church ladies serving us our food (and everything in between). So if you've ever attended I think you'll agree, this is THE event to attend. That said, this is really important.... The show is FREE for us to attend.... that's right FREE! BUT it is NOT free to put on. Where does the money come from? The sale of raffle tickets, shirts and of course WHCC membership. What's that, not a member? I'll make it easy for you.... download the attachment today and send in your $10 for a year of WHCC membership! Better yet, go to the 2016 show and show your support, the shirts are absolutely the best quality with a breast pocket. You MUST mail in your application with a check or money order as PayPal and Credit Cards are not accepted. Please support them, if you've ever attended the show, you know why, and if you haven't, supporting will help insure the show will still be there when you can attend! Hi Everyone, I am the WHCC Newsletter, and I need your help, you all have seen the pictures from the big show, and you all have such wonderful stories to tell, I want to be able to share these stories with other enthusiasts. If you are not a member of the club, I would encourage you to become a member. They are working hard to help collectors and other enthusiasts out with the big show, I found parts there this year that I have been looking for over a year. Please if you would like to submit an article to the newsletter please let me know, the club and especially the Newsletter would not be without all the amazing members that are out there. In case you are a member but did not make it to the meeting, I am trying something new for the next newsletter, I will be working to send out the Newsletter via email to those that want it that way. It will be in color, and although I will still be limited to the size (depending on how many decide to get their Newslett via email) it will be in color. Please help me out, I know there have got to be some great stories about your time at the show, so here is your chance to let everyone know. If you need help writing it, I can help...I just need the jist of it and some pictures. Please help me out and dont make me beg!!! Karen Thackeray kthack657

Being all caught up in the WH mania, I forgot and left my camera in the truck... so these are the picts my Mrs Rules captured. Here's the prodigy himself, Jake Kuhn...and his meticulously restored RJ and 401 Mrs Buckrancher(Jo) and Jay Holt(JayinNC) just before the start of Friday's WH parade. The Squonk(Mike), JayinNC(Jay), and myself(AMC RULES) checking my Mrs Rules new A-81 mower purchase. The reason why everyone calls me Bob at the show...Me and Trouty56(Bob)hamming it up. The RJ-35 guru himself VinsRJ(Vin)diggin' my new "Where's Craig" shirt. Steveasaurus, Jusgettingby, Racinbob, Trouty56, and myself all just chewin' the fat here. Me with the stainless steel master himself...Buckrancher(Brian) Mrs&Mr Woodchuckfarmer(Wayne)enjoying a cruise with one of their adorable granddaughters. Me and that Clintonut(Charlie)caught doing a little catch up. End of the day...Me& the Zeek after successfully loading up the Cheese Grater. ...and finally, a new RedSquare member here...Mrs Rules waving bye, as she rides off into the sunset on her new A-81 mower. I just wanted to say thanks again to all of my wonderful RedSquare family who gather every year at the big WHCC and help to make it such a glorious event.

I got into watching Tele-Tubbys...they are excellent. You can still watch them on U-Tube. I do not recommend them if it hurts to laugh. I will tell you this...."If you had an accident, and when it happened, you looked around to see if anybody was watching how stupid you were for doing what you did when you got hurt...then Tele-Tubbys might be too mature for you." Congratulations Hodge. Hey you guys...did we pick a runner up, just in case. Hodge, you have now become a voter at the show next year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAJZ_vnM56o

It is about 650 miles from my house to the Big Show...1 way...about 1300 round trip. The 1st year I went, I won the raffle tractor...the bad thing is...I just went for my 6th year in a row. I should just move out there. BTW, I have gone to the show and picked up a few horses for a couple of guys that are in Minnesota...another 400 miles (1 way). So when you add it up, I have gone over 2100 miles round trip to drop off a horse. Shynon is getting one of those this year. WTF was I thinking???

Craig- Tell the misses that I appreciate the video and Brennan will too in the future I am sure. The funny thing is Brennan check the oil early that morning and said hey dad the oil is brownish/black and we should change it. He carefully drained the old oil and then re filled it. Later that day he just happened to have to change the drive belt and did it with the assistance of Vin. We got home and he decided it was time to make his rat rod 551 shiny like his buddies at the show. We are in the middle of this......

I was amazed at just how well the kids did with driving their Wheel Horse. Before driving through the cones I wanted to test their knowledge of operation and for me to check for mechanical problems of their Wheel Horse. Each child got a different discussion about the tractor they were operating (next year a group rules of the road class may happen) since all types of Wheel Horses were operated by the kids. A child with a 953/1054 was taught to look for out and make sure nothing is in their path that might get run over by the taller tractor. Any kid riding a mid engine RJ or Suburban series was warned against letting the clutch out too fast as not to pull a unwanted wheelie. Kids with hydros were told to use the foot brake first then make sure the lever is pulled back. Any tractors that had wide wheel weights I instructed the kids to make sure they had enough room when making a turn on their Wheel Horse so the weight will not hit any thing. During obstacle course I watched each kids body language too make sure they were not in trouble and to see what sequence they operated starting and stopping procedures in. It was good to have the parents there too supporting the children. Any of the kids who was in the class and then drove in the parade got more attention as after I talked to them about their Wheel Horse I raised their wrist to show the world the red band they received for passing the course ! I would also like to give a BIG THANK YOU to my assistant Jo Marion as she was a big help with this project. I am proud of all the kids who took this class ! Wild Bill

It made it to the show and met up with the original. The owner painted the first one but in my opinion, it looked better as a rat. The original was sold to the president of the WH collectors club 2 years ago and he ended up giving it to his neighbor because his kids had so much fun driving it around. I got the chance to meet the owner, his wife and his son. It was very satisfying to hear the stories of how much they enjoy it and to see the smile on that child's face as he climbed around on this new one. The new one was sold to the president again, same guy that bought the first one. I was very reluctant to sell it but I know it went to the right person. A grown man had that same smile as the child did!

Thought I would post my new lift cable made by Wheelhorseman1000 for my 953 made to correct length with pressed on ball ends just like originals. Another fine product coming from Wheelhorseman's shop. We did a little test pull yesterday and tried to pull a 3/4 ton chev and a c160 all weighted down and dug holes and did not break. Thanks for looking Tom
