I had this 1954 Dodge Red Ram Hemi engine laying in the garage for many years. I wanted to build a power unit out of it but I tripped over these 1959 Copar Panzer parts and thought, hmmmm! So I have it mocked up so far but I'll have to make a new frame and weld it together. It looks pretty beefy so far! Should I do it or what? Looks like a done deal to me! KJ

Some of you may have seen my post "definitely not a looker" where I documented my recent acquisition of a well worn model 702 tractor, and a few various attachments. This package deal included a square deck mower that had more holes in it than a block of swiss cheese, but surprisingly, still cut like a dream. When I flipped it over, I was elated to discover it's cast spindle housing looking virtually brand new. Especially since my nice looking 653's deck has always had a cracked in two spindle housing, as I got it from the PO. I spent a good portion of last Saturday combining the best of both of these decks into one unit...and I can tell you, what a PITA that turned out to be. Just breaking free all the rusted hardware, and cleaning up 50 years worth of compacted grease from both decks made this an arduous task to be sure. Well worth the effort though, once I mounted up the completed deck on my 653, engaged the mower, and witnessed the grass actually exiting the rear of the deck as it was always meant to be. All in all, I'd say a pretty good deal that ol' tractor package turned out to be...considering I'm seeing that cast spindle housing alone typically being offered for the same price that I paid for the tractor and all it's attachments combined.

Hi Guys- you may remember I am a Foster Parent. The oldest , my grandson, is named Trevor. It has been a dream of his for a long time....to make the High School Football Team....and run out under the lights...just once in his life.....Well, He is about to do it! Friday is the big rivalry between the Mishawaka Cavemen & The Penn Kingsmen. Here he is ready to go! Wish him luck and congratulations! He is playing on the same field , and for the same team, that I did 53 years ago! Thanks...Al

Put a belt guard on it and keep it the way it is, I like the look of the hood on it, gives it the real worker look... And the other one rocks also..

Down right dangerous racing that truck. It is in desperate of some serious frame bracing.

The Eaton & Sunstrand hydro's are not capable of operating a hydraulic cylinder large enough to make an effective log splitter. Nor are they capable of operating a FEL. The Factory resevoir's are not large enough to accomodate the required amount of fluid to operate a cylinder(s) that large. The pressures required to operate these cylinders would also blow the ends right out of the puny lift cylinders used on W/H hydro machines, let alone the transmissions themselves.

Wax on rust will not work... it will turn white and look real bad. I always say "you can't polish a turd" (but you can oil it up) lol :ychain:

The deck will flex if you back the height gauge wheel into any thing. My guess is some one has back it in something a warped the deck a little. My deck is 35 years old and has quite a few places where the blades have hit, but it only hits when I hit something with the deck, root, rock or fence post. Check your deck for cracks were the rear lift is attached to the deck. I had to weld the deck and reinforce my deck with more steel plates at those locations.
