It runs good, no smoke, shifts well.  I chose not to paint the hood or the repop belt guard.  Original shower head muffler.  K-91 engine.  Good gas tank and new fuel bowl from K&B Horse Parts.  If the cast seat is not desired I can put a normal seat back on.  It’s quite small!  The footrests and showerhead muffler go with it.

Pick up in Michigan, or possible delivery to the Big Show in 2024.

The Onan P220 runs, but not well. I repaired the seal on the intake manifold, replaced the carb & spark plugs, adjusted valve clearance, and tried adjusting the governor, but it still surges. It has the swept front axle but does not have reduction steering. As far as I know, all is original, and the hour meter is at 610.

Several attachments could be included in the deal if desired, for a bit extra. Either a 60" SD or 48" SD deck, single stage snowblower, and/or snow plow blade (would need to get extension kit for front wheel clearance).

1. 48" mower deck. One small patch on the end (opposite of discharge side) Nice clean deck otherwise, spins free and seems quiet. comes with mule drive belt (no mule drive tho) - asking $275 obo

1. wheel horse short chute blower. In great shape. Dirty from sitting for a long time, but spins free and is quiet. Ran it on my workhorse 1800 just to try it and it rips. Quick wash and it will look like almost new - asking $150

1 wheel horse front snow plow. complete unit, just needs the cutting edge flipped for best performance - asking $150 obo

If you buy the plow or snowblower for asking price, ill include a set of tire chains free.

Bought it running on 1 cylinder, replaced the coil with a new one, started it up and it ran great for about 5 seconds, and went back to running on 1 cylinder

Replaced the head gasket in the front cylinder as i heard a whistle sound. Now thats gone, but still running on one cylinder

Its been a slow project for me, dont need to sell but i think its time to let someone else who is smarter than me fix it. It has to be something easy that im overlooking. Im not a mechanic or a ONAN expert. Im kinda lost with it, but im sure someone could have in running great in a few hours

 

hood and rear fender are in great shape, floor boards have some rust. Tires all hold air. It does drive and hydro lift works. No hydro leaks i can see

The Story - This tractor has been in my family since the mid-1980's and was originally used for mowing and plowing.  At one point during the late 1980's the engine was rebuilt, and it has been a strong runner ever since.  After a few years of use, a 2nd mower (larger deck) was purchased and this tractor has been used for snow plowing or towing a trailer ever since.  I am trying to find a new home for it, with someone who will appreciate and care for it long term (rather than just trying to dump it on FB Marketplace for someone to tear up).

We do really like the tractor and have a soft spot for it since it still works really well (not many people a still clearing snow with a nearly 60-year old tractor).  At this point it is a bit too large for our driveway, and a snowblower is better suited to us (so the wife can use it).

Gave it to my grandfather, who has passed, when he wasn't able to lift heavy implements anymore.  We're a WH family everyone has one but we don't need this one any more.  Comes with a WH blower.  The last time I saw it it was in really good shape but it has been a few years since it moved snow, it was mostly used for mowing but I can't include the deck another family member owns it.

I replaced a ton of parts to ensure it was in good shape including the rubber engine mounts, drive belt, oil and hydro filter, etc.  Cleaned the head, full tune up, carb, etc.

It does not have the original muffler it has a stack (with a flapper) which I think looks cool but obviously isn't original.  Seat is after market as well.  And I swapped the plastic fenders for metal which are infinitely better.  I may have some other WH parts that can go with it as well, or be negotiated separately.  We are in a hurry to clean out his house for sale and have a hard deadline to find everything a new home.  Probably should have had an estate sale but no time left, but if you like tools there are probably lots of other things in the barn that might be interesting as well.

Really want it to go to a good home and my wife just doesn't want another tractor in the barn.  I've been a long time WH collector but I just can't fit one more.

Hoping someone can pick it up this weekend, preferably sunday 10/22.  Willing to negotiate so it can go to a good home and save me from hauling it back to my place to sell.  Pickup would be in Flat Rock, MI.

The attached picture is from a few years ago but should be reasonably accurate.  Always stored in a garage or barn.  I haven't seen it in a few years so I don't want to pretend that it is in perfect condition.  It was really nice then but it was regularly used to mow the lawn for the past few years after he passed by other relatives that were living there temporarily until the house was sold.  So it should be good but I'll get an accurate picture when I travel out there tomorrow.  Until then just wanting to see if there is any interest.  I've met some really great WH collectors in the area or people that just need a decent tractor that isn't some POS from home depot.

Tractor : I have owned this for several years and has been my main tractor the last 2 . Let me begin by saying that the hour meter works and shows 2100 hours on it. Previous owner stated that key was left on multiple times so actual hours are unknown. Unit was in great shape and did not appear to match the hours showing but for peace of mind the heads were pulled, valves done, carb was rebuilt , PTO was rebuilt, new PTO clutch disc, new drive belt, new fuel line and filter, new rear tires ( Carlisle ) , rear hubs converted to studs and lug nuts, all sheet metal has been redone professionally, new decals, new step pads, all fluids and filters changed, LED tailights, new battery. Works as it should, I have put 100 hours on this tractor.   Non gear reduction / no forward swept axle!  Seat is nice but has 1 small blemish.

Snow Plow : 48" blade with very little use, has NOT been repainted! One of the last models produced , it has the cable actuated 5 position sector and the long reach handle.

48" deck : Fully restored using all genuine Toro / Wheel Horse parts. Sandblasted , professionally refinished , bedlined underneath for durability. All new bearings , belts , blades , etc.... Deck has not been used since being redone. Was a  very clean and solid example, no patches anywhere.

Not shown but included are the rear axle bracket for the plow , and the mule drive for the deck with a brand new genuine Toro belt.

It then became more valuable to us as parts that have been integrated into other projects (and some to keep other members’ tractors alive.) 

Potentially useful parts remaining:

Frame

Front axle & axle pivot pin w/bolt

Rear rims (8.5 x 12) with tires (one tubed, the other not; rubber is hard but not yet cracking; non-tubed tire has a couple of plugged leaks)

(The transaxle without the hydro has a leaking seal and bad bearing on left side)

Brake pedal, linkage, drum, and band.

Lift lever limit bracket, arm, and knob (spinning freely!)

Fuel tank with cap, sender for fuel gauge, and petcock (might need a new grommet)

The implement lift arm moves with the rockshaft but I’ve made no attempt to remove the arms so they're probably pretty rust-welded onto the shaft.

The “tunnel” is there along with some of the hydro linkage.

(Tunnel removed, cut apart, and scrapped due to rust erosion. Lift handle, shaft, and arms are resisting efforts to separate them! Hydro linkage part have a new home.)

The attach-a-matics are both on other tractors!
