1983 Wheel Horse Tractor/Lawn mower. My dad bought this new in 1983 for about $3,500 (alot of dinero for back then). It was used only to mow his yards, and it now has 1,100 hours on it. It was kept inside/covered these past 40 years. His tractor shed faced east and the mower had morning sunlight on it and a tarp was laid over it when not being used.....and the sun caused the tarp to get hot and it bleached the red paint on the hood......not rust or any primer paint, but just bleached from the hot sun on the tarp.

It is all original......the WheelHorse seat is perfect with no rips/tears. The tires are original and are cracking some on the sides, but all hold air fine except the small right front tire, which has a slow leak in it.

Engine is a Kawasaki FC 540 V, which I believe is a 14HP. "Kawasaki lets the good times roll".

I had it running in 2017 before putting it in storage and draining the gas tank. Today it started and ran, but with a small squirt bottle of gas feeding the intake as the gas seems to be taking a long time to pump up to the carb. It ran strong and idled fine back in 2017.

I do recall that the hydramatic transmission was slipping and did not want to pull the tractor up steep grades.....so, not sure if it needs oil, and oil change, or an adjustment. Buyer will need to get a new battery.

A great classic tractor to restore. $500 or best offer.
I could deliver if buyer is not too far away.

fyi -- according to Tractordata.com 257h were only built in 88-89 -- not '83 -- had 17 hp Kawasaki engine installed - might want to check 257h model info here on Red Sq to verify yr and engine info in your post?
