Mower Deck Interchangeability

Interested to know if I can directly mount a 48" side discharge mower deck from

a 512-8 onto a C-111. Any advise will be appreciated. Looks like it might work

but I have only seen the deck in pictures.

Yes - the deck will mount up to the C-111.

I fixed it, Tom.

So.... does the C-111 still have the 11hp Briggs & Stratton engine? It might not like the 48" deck too well if it does.

The oops was because I thought I got your name wrong. No, the engine in

my C-111 is an 11 hp Honda installed 15 years ago in a chassis bought at a

yard sale for $100, delivered. I took the non-functional engine out and

buried it there and then. The deck originally was a 36" WH which was replaced

with a Gilson 42" made adaptable by using the WH hardware from the 36" unit.

Been a workhorse ever since.

Its possible that the Honda may not be enough for a 48" deck. However, I am

hopeful that with 2 acres of level grass, I should be able to adjust height,

belt drive ratio and tranny gear to make it through.
