Heavier flywheel options

Recommended Posts

This question isn't really related to WH, but I know you guys are quite knowledgeable and thought I'd ask to see if anyone knows. Aside from the B-80 I have, I also have a Dixon 42" ZTR. It's powered by a 10HP Briggs (repowered, originally an 11HP). Anyhow, it seems like the flywheel is just a tad too light to keep up with the deck engaged. I'm wondering if it is even possible to get a heavier flywheel for the motor, or will I run into longevity troubles by doing so?

TIA

The real trick would be finding one that would fit and have the right gear for the starter.

I don't think a heavier one would hurt the engine. The 5 horse tiller engines had heavier

flywheels than a standard 5 horse engines.
