wikket 0 #1 Posted June 5, 2009 Hello, Hopefully somebody can help. I was wondering if a 12hp K series Kohler oil pan will fit on the 16hp Kohler. I have a K341, I guess it is from a Bolens or a JD, it have that little rectangular sump at the middle of the pan. I am planning to put the K341 on my C-85. wikket 0 #6 Posted June 5, 2009 The C-85 is already up and running with the 16Hp. The only problem is the oil drain location on the current oil pan. I was thinking about replacing the oil pan to something that a WH uses. Easier for oil change.
WH854 44 #7 Posted June 5, 2009 I own a C-105 WH the oil pan has a drain out the bottom of the oil pan. The engine is bolted to what Wheel Horse calls an engine cradle. The oil pan fits in that hole in the engine cradle. I think that oil pan is an OEM part just for use on the engine cradles. Those cradles are like motor mounts in a car, They keep the engine from shaking itself a part if you know what I mean.I don,t think its a good idea to bolt big block Kohler right to the frame. Thats my 02cents. Chas
Don1977 604 #8 Posted June 6, 2009 I have an owners manual for model K241S, K301S, K321S they all use oil pan Part No.237763. It doesn't have K341 listed. They all list 1 quart oil capacity, and the stroke on the 12 and 14 is listed as 3 1/4" there may not be enough room for the stroke on a 16 HP.
