Prater 75 #1 Posted May 4, 2009 I have the rear bracket that attaches to the axle for the tiller and blade. I have it pulled apart for cleaning and new paint. Just curious if anyone has changed out the washer that holds tension on the latching plate. The original was a thin steel washer that rubbed the paint off. I was thinking of using delrin washers or something simular. Anyone else change them? or do they need the friction created with the steel washer?
jtmoyer 1 #2 Posted May 4, 2009 i don't think i would worry about the friction keeping them closed just put in pins to keep it latched. i used the tiller and there was no amount of friction that would keep the latch down when the tiller hit a root. with a pin in to lock it down it won;t go anywhere. Prater 75 #3 Posted May 4, 2009 Thanks, I figured the pin would be all I need. I will replace that washer with something less abrasive.
KyBlue 652 #4 Posted May 5, 2009 Two Thin washers, with a bit of Oil on em, will help em pivot...and hopefully save the paint..
