Tractor cab cleanup idea request

Recommended Posts

Hey guys... just found this cab this weekend at a swap meet. It needs a little TLC. Would like suggestions on reconditioning if anyone has any. Particularly the plastic windows.

I would cut out the windows, and use Velcro to hold the new plastic in place.

It has been tested in musical comedies, and by strippers for years, and given the Good Housekeeping seal of approval. :omg:

I think I'd pickup some of the plastic Recond. Kits from someplace like Eastwood...

Jason, Where have I seen one of those before? :omg: Nice find! Use mothers back to black on the fabric it has lanolin in it and will soften and put oils back in the fabric and make it pluttle again! Novus is a good 3 step scratch remover and plastic polish I have used it before on my Airplane Cherokee 180 and it works great! I will be doing a restoraton on my cab I picked up, lemme know of anything you come up with along the way like fabric etc. and I will do the same! Novus Plastic Polish

Here is a description, they also sell it on Flee Bay

#1 - Gently cleans all plastics without scratching. Leaves a lustrous shine that resists fogging, repels dust, and eliminates static.

#2 - Removes fine scratches haziness and abrasions from most plastics. Restores faded and discolored plastics.

#3 - Removes heavy scratches and abrasions from most acrylic surfaces. Use when damage is too severe to be restored with NOVUS #2 polish.

Not recommended for use on coated plastics.

Product is new and unopened.

Shake well. Test in an inconspicuous area.

Apply NOVUS No. 3 liberally. Using a clean, soft cloth, polish with a firm back-and-forth motion at right angles to the scratches. Keep the cloth saturated with polish at all times.

Continue polishing until only fine scratches remain. Using cloth, remove all remaining polish, this is very important!

Using a clean cloth, apply NOVUS No. 2 in a circular motion uniformly to entire surface. Polish using light pressure until NOVUS No. 2 dries to a light haze.

Using a clean portion of the cloth, buff the surface clean. Follow with NOVUS No. 1 for best results.
