Help with starting issues

Hey guys, I need some help with a JD that my aunt owns, please don't shoot me. I was over there on Sat. but couldn't get it to fire. I has got spark but it is kind of a yellow/white spark not a good blue color. I thought I would take to top off of the motor and clean up the magnets and see if that would fix it. Oh ya it would help if you know what it was that I was working on, I believe it is a 112L. I have put a new spark plug in it and gapped it to .025", is this correct? Beyond this I don't know what to do, it was running last year and they pulled it up kind of under a carport and let it sit all year long, they want me to fix it. :omg: Any help is appricated.

Thanks.
