Charger 9 repower

Recommended Posts

kto434

I got a nice shape Charger 9 this summer.  The original Techy crapped out then its Kohler k241 replacement started crapping out.  I found a nice running 310-8 and decided to repower the Charger 9 with its Kohler M10 (shown in pics).  I still need to connect choke and throttle cable, connect fuel line, new air filter, clean it up, and do some minor wiring, but should work great!  Thanks to everyone who helped me with advice and sharing experiences/ideas—all extremely helpful.

953 nut

:handgestures-thumbupright:               I just replaced the tired old K-241 in one of my 953s with a 12 HP Magnum. A new ignition switch, solenoid and a slight bit or wiring needed to be changed but otherwise a piece of cake.

I wonder if one could shoehorn a Wisconsin AGND under a 953 hood. I understand a pulley resize would be needed to compensate for the lower 3200 RPM Wisconsin engine but only if one was to use it for mowing or snow blowing. 1/2" difference in pulley size would be enough.
