K341 16 hp Kohler carb base settings?

Recommended Posts

Pullstart

I am trying to help someone on the phone to get his old C-160 back to life.  Yesterday was getting spark, today we confirmed the fuel pump is supplying the carb with plenty of fuel and that the carb has been thoroughly cleaned, but it sounds like it is starving of fuel that it’ll barely run with the choke on, but not at all without it.  Could someone possibly quick tell me the baseline settings for the main and low idle screws to help a friend of a friend?

Here is a picture of his carb.  The top screw is main and the side 45 degree one is idle, correct?

If that carb. was cleaned properly the red paint would be at the bottom of the bucket of cleaning solvent.   :twocents-02cents:

We discussed what he used to clean it, and it is getting taken back apart for some more cleaning.  I will see him tomorrow and update y’all soon.

thanks!

Check for air being sucked in around a bad flange gasket or a loose throttle shaft.
