Alamobrady30 25 #1 Posted September 19, 2018 Inherited a Gt-1800 that sat for 8 years. Replaced battery, cables and fuel filter and it started up on 8 year old fuel in the tank. I replaced the blades and it runs and mows like a champ. Im hooked now. I caught the wheelhorse bug. Just a few small patch jobs on the deck to finish up 10

ebinmaine 62,374 #6 Posted September 19, 2018 Well done Brady. Welcome to the addiction. Might as well start clearing room for more or buy another shed/garage/barn. 2
Red144runner 657 #7 Posted September 19, 2018 Those are particularly cool Wheelhorse tractors. First it has a great engine in that boxer IC Briggs, make a lot of power more than enough for a big deck or 2 stage snowblower. Second it has the Eaton 1100, and on that model the top speed is a little more than the others. Also came with the big wheels in back. Might not be a bad idea to pull the heads and look at those valve seats, and while your there stake them in for cheap insurance. 1

Be sure to use non-ethanol gas, that stuff won't last eight minutes! https://www.pure-gas.org/ 1

I was just checking to make sure it turned over good after I replaced batter and cables and I forgot left the fuel turned on and I was like holly crap I love these machines. I will replace the fuel lines and take tank out to give it a good cleaning this winter.
JAinVA 4,617 #10 Posted September 19, 2018 Nice score. Most of the ones I've seen are brown from being out in the weather. Not sure why WH came out with that paint scheme but they were attractive when new or restored.Welcome to the addiction.
Tankman 3,514 #11 Posted September 19, 2018 (edited) Nice Horse! The start of your addiction. Like this "Work" Horse but, Thinking I like the all "red" Stallions. Guess I'll stop, Rustoleum Regal Red both belt guards. Coarse skateboard grip tape (recommended by the grandsons) for the foot rests, works great! One piece does both sides. https://www.warehouseskateboards.com/mob-grip-perforated-black-griptape-9x33?source=googleshopping&locale=en-US Added the dial-a-height. $20 eBay. Rear reflectors gone, added lights. Hey gotta keep the grandsons wo....wo....WORKING! Was always a Kohler dude but, this Briggs runs great. Pullstart 58,797 #17 Posted September 19, 2018 from West Michigan! Nice tractor, there is a Big Show in PA every June that you’ll probably end up going to and I saw a grey horse there with oversized tires and man did that thing look cool!

I take the boys to a local small airport to fill gas cans. !00% Octane, low lead, zero ethanol. Unlawful to use gas with ethanol in small aircraft. Wonder why? Duh. I often add Seafoam or Berrymans to the fuel just because.
