Hi everyone new to the site and wheelhorses.picked up a 310-8 with a snowblower attachment not mounted.with no manuals or good pictures online I'm having trouble figuring out where to start.i had the lift tube hooked up a few different ways and couldn't get it to raise and lower.is the flag piece suppose to move freely inside the tube?.what is it suppose to attach to underneath?and lastly should there be a pin and a hitch clip and n the tachamattic?any help greatly appreciated.not sure either on model number of blowerIMG_20180909_135858.jpg.bd4573d1f62a4c9a7d55526f4564af5f.jpg

I think any one of the members up in your area, that uses a thrower would be the most helpful . I made up some 4x4 blocks to go under the thrower assembly, as well as using a small jack , making it a lot easier. anyone up north Brookfield mass area ?  remember when you started out, pete

Can we see more pics of the blower? It almost looks like a pre-tach o matic blower by what little I saw of the mounting.

that flag mounts on the lift handle 2nd hole lift point, under tractor look at handle to chain lift point . also you can help your lift height by adding a few washers on to flag rod as it slides into lift rod. tractor supply lift spring, # c  369   1 3/4"  x 8 " works very well , makes it much easier lifting.pete

One of the biggest pains is getting the lift flag attached to the lift handle. You have to almost have to crawl under the tractor. When you remove the blower at the end of the season disconnect it from the front and pull it forward.Once the lift tube is free of the flag, leave the flag attached and tie it to the mower lift bar.

I said attach the flag to the second hole, that will give you the height you want, also add a couple of 3/4" washers on the flag  slide in rod ,to  the lift rod  that will increase the height and help lift advantage. tractor supply lift spring # c 369 is what you want. those bolts on the frame hook up , should be a I piece solid round bar, makes things easier. the drive belt double pulley, spring tension frame , should be lubricated at mounting and friction points , to ensure smooth belt /constant tension, if you get that far, make sure you lubricate while hand turning the blower auger drive chain, that is vital for operational speed. pete

Where you show the plated bolts is a solid 5/8" rod welded to the blower on the later models. You may want to add that as it makes hooking the blower a lot easier.Get all the bugs worked out before the snow flys.

That blower is for the older non-tachamatic tractors. Not sure if your PTO will work correctly.

The holes you are using to mount originally used a bolt and bushings through the tractor frame behind the quick hitch so a 69" belt should be too short. You might be able to figure out what you have from this list. Don't think it is newer than 1972.

DNA - Listed in the order they were produced

1966-67 model ST-376

1968 model 6-1211

1969 model 6-6211 plus 6-9111

1970-72 model 6-6212 plus 6-9112

1973-74 model 6-6212 plus 6-9113 (First to use front quick hitch)

1974 model 6-6213 (First model to include 8-0221 extensions without the front straight return - just a flat plate)

1975 model 6-6214 (First model to include 8-0221 (103552 replaced by 93-1617 and 93-1617-01) side extensions with the front straight return. First model to have a cable spool on chute rotating crank handle)

1976 model 6-6215

1976 model 66-42ST01

1977 model 76-42ST01

1978 model 86-42ST01

1979 model 96-42ST01

1980 model 06-42ST01 (Last 42" model to use 4 grooved rollers for the chute)

1981-82 model 06-42ST02 (First model to use plastic collar for the chute. Last model to use wheels)

1983 model 06-42ST03 (First model to use skids)

1984-87 model 06-42ST04

1987-89 model 06-42ST05

1990 model 06-42ST06

1991-93 model 06-42ST07 (First model with tall chute)

1993-2001 model 79360

2002-07 model 79362

This manual is for the model intended for your tractor. Will explain how the tube and flag are installed.

If that one fits on a GT-14, I might be willing to trade a 300-series blower for it, if you can't get it attached.
