Triangle coil to standard coil

Recommended Posts

I have a 14hp kohler that has the triangle coil and no points. I know I can add points to the engine with out a problem. But what else is needed to hook up a regular coil and get rid of the triangle coil set up?

I guess I wrote that kind of odd. I want to get rid of the breakerless ignition and go to the standard points set up.

Is this an M series engine? If it is then points can't be added without some machining of the block.
