Any thoughts on what this Orange 10 horse Kohler would have been on?

You can see that there's some kind of a guard over the top of the exhaust Outlet on the engine.

Also, the oil dipstick tube is different from any of the Wheelhorse tractor setups I've seen in the older rigs.

If I want to bench test this engine can somebody tell me what wires to put where?

Put 12v on the coil + terminal have a good ground somewhere on the engine block and hit the A terminal on the S/G with 12 volts (heavy wire like a jumper cable)
