953Nut and fast88pu - post GT-14 loader pics?

Recommended Posts

Fellows, I was looking through a muffler thread for GT-14s and I saw both of you had sweet loaders on yours. 953nut, I especially like the frontend attachment. Did you build those yourselves or are they original WH attachments?

Can you post some pictures, including how they attach to the frame?  A loader build is on my list, but I have been trying to understand how they should be attached for best support.

It is a Johnson Workhorse had been owned and operated by a landscaping contractor prior to my purchase. The sub frame appears to be a factory built and is very stout. The sub frame is bolted directly to the frame in several positions.

I have several photos of the unit and if you need more I can fix you up in a couple of days.

Thanks so much! Man, that front end is BRUTAL!!!!! Two questions, 1) What kind of hydro pump is that? It seems nice and compact, but I haven't seen one like it in my searches. 2) Is that the rectifier bolted on the outside of the left side? Curious why? COnvenience? Cooling?

Here's the one I used for the back hoe

https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/NTESearch?storeId=6970&ipp=48&Ntt=.517+pump

This is the same one recommended by PF Engineering for their loaders and micro hoes

http://www.p.f.engineering.50megs.com/

If you're building a loader, do yourself a favor and order the plans. It saves a bunch of time eliminating the search for the right parts and most of the trial and error. The design is already proven. You can easily modify the plans as you go along to suit your own particular needs and wants but all of the important information is right there. I did the micro hoe and it was the best money spent on the whole project.

Jack, here are some pics of my 1277 with a johnson 10 loader. Its important to attach your loader to front, mid and rear points of your tractor. If you only connect to front and mid, your loader can twist the frame because the counter weight on the rear will try to hold the rear down and sometimes your loader will twist left or right depending on what you doing. My loader was added by the PO and really did not do that great of job. I added to the subframe to go around the rear end, but there are lots of way to do things different from how I do it. Just thought I would give you some ideas. First pic is my son in action.

The Rectifier is bolted to the outside because I'm old and my arthritic hands don't work well enough to bolt it to the back side of the cover without removing the side cover.      :ychain:            Getting old ain't for sissies!
