701 or 702 Steering Modification (Turning Radius)

If you have a 701 or 702, you know that the turning radius is very wide. Has anyone modified one of these to accommodate a 1963 or newer front axle to improve the steering?

I used a ‘64 chassis on my 502 refresh, but I’m sure the front plates holding the axle could have been grafted in if there was some attachment to the 701 or 702 frame.  Otherwise, I cut the hood stand welds off the 64 chassis and all the other holes were the same.  The steering gears from the ‘62 fit with the ‘64.
