Got some time today, put in all new bearings, did a dry assembly to make sure i had it correct with the 8 pionion differential in it. All was good, so i put the gasket in and sealed it up. Filled with oil, oh and when you do this put the drain plug in first :ranting::angry-banghead:

That's funny stuff right there.

Good to know you're human.

Sounds like something I may have done in the past...

Not sure if I should admit this in public but it's definitely a lot more often than that for me.

Hate to say it, but I put almost 3 quarts in my truck when changing the oil and looked down and saw a caramel river running toward my feet😊!  We've all done it before, just hard to admit our own mistakes, but easy to laugh at other's mistakes!

Steering shaft bushing NLA so i opened up the inside of some old front wheel bushings. Front axle hole was washed out so i welded around the hole, then I'm going to refit the NOS pin i got off :techie-ebay:

Hole built up with weld looks good.

It will be a bear to drill, good thing is that it should never wear out again.

I like your home made bushing too.

Must be nice to have a lathe to tinker with.

I used a sealed collar bearing in the steering tube on my gt14 instead of the bushings. They fit the tube perfectly and seem to work great. I can get the number if interested. Nice work!

Pullstart

What bends the clutch rod that bad?  Tight belt?  Too much pressure on the brakes?

Welded up the spindles today, fitted them back into the axle. New bearings and races on the front wheels. Rockshaft, steering shaft and fan, transmission bolted up. Wheels and tires on. Dug out the old motor from The Machine realized I need to switch out the oil pan.

Yep, sometimes things are worn and you have to do the best you can with what you have. And time you have, hoping to pull a plow at the meet and greet.
