Dakota 70 #1 Posted June 23, 2018 Hello everyone, my transmission started to leak around both axles, as well as around the break shaft. I’ll probably go ahead and replace the input shaft seal while I’m at it. I have been given part numbers for Napa but just wanted to confirm with you guys that they are correct. The part number I got for the axle seals is 11050. Break shaft 9815 and input shaft 6105. Also how would I go about replacing these seals? Thanks in advance! ebinmaine 63,089 #2 Posted June 23, 2018 You can order a kit from Lowell for about 21$. Definitely a good idea to replace all four at once. Double check both wheel bearings while you can see them with the seals out. I used a Small hammer and screwdriver to get them out. Not sure if that's the best way.... He's one of our listed Redsquare vendors... And a great guy. Look in our vendors section and go to Wheelhorse parts and more. I'd Highly advise calling and talking to him to insure getting the right parts kit. You'll need to remove all 4 things in front of the seals to change them. As for removal: The brake pulley uses a C-clip to hold it on and should come of fairly easily. The input pulley is held with a set screw and should pull off ok with a medium to large 3 jaw puller. The hubs now.... I can't stress this enough... They can be tough to remove and require A LOT of patience. The BEST way to remove a hub is to get a junk hub from @A-Z Tractor and set up a puller using that hub do as to Incorporate all 5 hub bolt holes. Dakota 70 #7 Posted June 24, 2018 @ebinmaine I guess I’m lucky then, when I first got the trans I took the tires and hubs off with little to no effort because I was planning on putting them on a different trans then changed my mind so getting them off again shouldn’t be hard, and the input pulley it just sitting in the shaft because the set screw it gone so it should be hard to take off either lol 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
