8hp 4speed progress

So as I’ve mentioned in previous posts I got a 8hp 4 speed for $100 that ran and drove but needed some work. The wiring need redone, belt slipped in 3rd gear and it didn’t have any lights which I wanted. I’ll include some before and after pics and would like to hear what you guys think of the progress! I traded for a parts tractor that has the same engine and similar trans (4 speed but it has hi-lo) that I took a few parts off of. I’ll probably end up fixing up the the parts tractor as well because and runs and drives decent but for now it’s just being used for parts

Nice tractor!

I like the high rise exhaust and the LED cyclops.  Did you put on a new seat or recover the old one.

Thanks @Spook345! The exaust stack is probably my favorite feature! The led light is probably a overkill, it lights up about 75 yards in front of the tractor but atleast is looks cool lol. I got the seat off the parts tractor.

Nice tractor. Where did you get the stack and what part number  How loin is it.

@Retierd Wrencher that’s what I’m thinking, at first I thought it was a b80 but then I did some research and I’m pretty sure it’s just a 1973 8hp 4 speed. @oliver2-44 I got the stack off of the parts tractor I mentioned, I can get the model number off the sticker in just a little bit. I do remember that it is a international though.

I say just in joy it for what it is a working tractor. The tranny`s in those are the light side so No large tree stump pulling.

That muffler is from Tractor Supply $29.  I've been thinking about using it for a C160 and a C80 but am a little concerned it would be on the loud side. 

@Dakota do you find it loud or on the quiet side of mufflers?

of course it will be louder on a 16hp verses a 8hp. But if it's quiet on your 8hp that would make it worth me giving it a try.

@oliver2-44Its alittle bit louder than the little round one that came on mine but not by much, I think it makes the tractor sound better though.

Make sure the flapper valve thing is faced away from you when it’s open though or else the exaust goes right in your face
