Brent Fabian 57 #1 Posted May 25, 2018 My Kohler k91 runs, but we were trying to adjust the idle speed and fuel mixture, but we couldn't figure out which screw adjusted what? Anybody know which is which? And what setting are you running on yours? The carb number is C-234253
WHX?? 46,730 #2 Posted May 25, 2018 (edited) The needle that comes out the top is the main jet or high speed,The one that comes out at an angle on the passenger side is the low speed mix adjust or idle. The one near the throttle shaft is the idle speed. Start 2/1/2 turns out on the mixtures then turn in to you notice a change in engine sound, turn out till you notice a change in engine performance or sound. Then try to get the halfway point between those two settings or feel for the "sweet" spot. Every engine might be a bit different. Note this should be done on a "clean" carb. If the carb has dirt in it or plugged passages this all goes out the window. Try not to run too far lean (screw in) as that can lead to overheating. Get the engine warmed up first & check the air/fuel filter is clean. This procedure is in the Kohler manual as well.
