Cape Codder 2 #1 Posted May 24, 2018 This past week the machine wouldn't start so I replaced the Battery. It did start twice after about 20 tries. Now all I get is click/knock from the starter after releasing the key from the start position. I'm assuming It's starter or solenoid. Does this sound correct ? I'm not a mechanic but a neighbor could help install the parts. Would this be a difficult repair ? It doesn't look that easy to remove the starter.
ericj 1,576 #3 Posted May 24, 2018 I have some tractors that won't start unless you back off just slightly on the key and hit " that sweet spot" in the switch, the other thing is to check all saftey switch/ My 310 wont start unless I slam the PTO lever back after sitting, not hard just turn PTO on and then off and it will crank over. Like said above check all grounds and battery connections first. good luck eric j
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,489 #4 Posted May 24, 2018 Do you have a voltmeter for testing purposes or a 12 volt test light? Garry
