Fordiesel69 199 #1 Posted May 18, 2018 I have a thread going for clutch diagnosis. If the clutch itself is found to be bad, can a kohler magnum style manual lever clutch be installed? Reason I ask is the command pro engine looks to not have verticle load bearings just from observation. I know a harbor freight engine will fail very fast if this style of clutch is used as the crank just has plain bearings.
pfrederi 17,125 #2 Posted May 18, 2018 Best bet is to look up the spec# of the command pro on the Kohler website and look at the crankcase parts page. Look for a radial thrust bearing.
pfrederi 17,125 #3 Posted May 19, 2018 Some spec's had thrust bearings ...many did not. if it was from a WH Spec #44533 then it had a thrust bearing As an example Cub Cadet version did not....
Fordiesel69 199 #4 Posted May 21, 2018 I will check the spec # on the engine.
