That's a good candidate for a restoration project.

Best of luck. I never had one.

A full restoration is the plan, but it's gonna be a while.  For now I want to get the transmission right, fix the steering issues, and redo the wheels and tires.  Then hopefully get a motor on it; I 'd like to run it around some before the total teardown.

I quickly found out what was causing my lack of steering.  The collar for the steering shaft was loose which allowed for the steering lug-block to be driven into the tie rod.  Someone must have used a big hammer!

Is there supposed to be a through-hole on the end of the spindles?  Mine has holes on both spindle ends along with snap ring grooves.  In the owners manual parts diagram it only shows a snap ring holding the front wheel to the spindles.

Probably a previous owner didn't have new snap rings but did have a couple of nails around.

I haven't had much time to work on the tractor, but here's a little update.

I'm in the middle of rebuilding the transmission - not what I wanted to do at all, but completely necessary.  While I've been working on that I also sandblasted and primed all the other parts from the back-half of the tractor.  Meanwhile I pushed the front half to the back wall of the garage.  I also bought nicer hood from a forum member.

I'm interested in that damaged hacked hood. Only need the front portion so shipping should be easy.

My buddy is going to do some welding work on my new hood.  I'd like to keep my old hood around for a little while until I know my intact hood is good to go.  I can contact you when I'm ready to get rid of it, but it may be a while.

The transmission rebuild is ongoing, but getting close to re-assembly.  I also managed to get some painting done.

Not sure what to do about the seat.  Someone welded a U-shaped piece to the bottom along with two pieces of round stock.  The is also two cracks on top around the center hole.  I may try to find another seat pan.
