The Gman 476 #1 Posted May 9, 2018 I went to buy a deck for my sk486 and ended up buyin all of it. The guy was selling his deck from a c160. He still had the whole tractor and was scraping it. Also had a mid mount plow and a leaf vac. he tied to sell the parts a few years back. It's ruff been sitting outside for a few years but that's the fun. The controls are frozen, blown engine (broken con rod), seat is cracked, peddles are frozen +++. The tranny seems good though. Sure looks alot like my sk It id's as a 1974. A quick look at the engine I saw the con rod broke in half. Half left on the piston and half left on the crank.no other damage from first look. The wrist pin feels like it has better than 5 thou. play to the con rod. Here she is 😎🐾🐾 9 2

incabman 16 #6 Posted May 10, 2018 If you are going to try and salvage the engine, check the camshaft for cracks. Sometimes when a rod lets go, it will come around and whack the cam hard enough to break it. Otherwise looks like a good haul esp the deck.

Retired Wrencher 4,876 #8 Posted May 10, 2018 Nothing like a C160. Big bad and not ugly. Enjoy. I always wanted one of these. Don`t need it but it was always on my list to have.
Pollack Pete 2,273 #9 Posted May 10, 2018 I,ve always liked going to buy one item and coming home with a truck load.Especially Wheel Horse related stuff.Except for faded paint, the mower deck look like new.Shouldn't cost much to put a rod and rebuilding kit in that big Kohler.Have fun with your new toy. Herder 2,354 #10 Posted May 10, 2018 Nice, I would have taken it all home too. I cant tell you how long I've been looking for a leaf vac. It may not be complete but still a good start.
The Gman 476 #11 Posted May 10, 2018 Thanks for all the comments. Yes once in a while you get to land a good one (s). The deck is rock solid. Spindles are smooth and the spindle belt tension slide is clean.
