Recommended Posts

Anyone know where I can find regular tractor tires to go on my 414-8 I mowed  my yard yesterday and it has no traction. I'm wanting regular implement tires for it .this was the first time I mowed with this tractor and it is by far as you all know the best tractor you could ever owned for mowing. Wow!

If you have a Miller Tire Dealer near you, that is one of the best places to go.  :)

I edited your title to a more specific title to indicate what the thread topic is about.  For future reference, and for best results, it's better to make your thread title the topic you want to discuss, and not to use your username as a title.  You will find you will get better and more responses to your questions.

I just got Deestone Ags from Simpletire.com. Cheaper than Miller tire in general and usually free shipping.

Bought these Hi-Run 23x10.50-12s from Tractor Supply last summer...right at $90 a tire...loaded them with washer fluid and couldn't be happier

Weight will do you more good than bar tires on hard turf. If you’re like me, however, any excuse to get a cool set of Ags for the rear....LOL

There are some good buys on Amazon as well and free shipping on a lot of them. You just have to look and compare. '

The great thing about Amazon is that it is a great search tool. Type in what you are looking for and it shows up from many different sources. That way you can compare prices and shipping in one spot.Just about everyone sells through Amazon so you most likely will get best price there. If you are also a prime member you get free second day shipping.

I have purchased 3 pairs of Hi-Run tires from TSC so far and I have been very pleased with them.  From what I understand, Hi-Run bought Carlisle's molds for their tires.  All of the ones I have bought says "Made in New Zealand", for whatever that is worth.

As for Deestones, they tend to run a bit smaller than other makes, so that is a consideration that I made when I bypassed them for Hi-Runs.

I use a lot of 6-12s for restorations, summit has the best prices and usually free shipping, I also keep an eye good used, I have already bought tractors just for the tires and resold the tractor, miller tire is expensive

Inexpensive - Carlisle X Trac ATV Bias Tire - 16x6.50-8 Good quality (I expect) Should look nice with my large rear aggies
I don't know how much these have been discounted, but I expect anything you find like this from a good brand will be 2X to 3X the price. $45 each at Amazon. This tire is discontinued.

Rough measurement seems they are about 16" tall and the lugs are about 1/2" deep.

I’m trying to restore my grandfathers old 252-H to use around my property. The tires are shot and the rims aren’t too far behind. Anyone have any recommendations for rims and tires that would fit well on it?

      right now it has 22 x 7.50 - 12 on the back and 15 x 6 - 6 on the front.

I have a 1990 wheel horse classic model # 31-12KE01 and need to replace all 4 tires. The sizes are 15x6 8 NHS on front and 23x9.5 12 NHS Rear. I'm wondering if anyone has any specific tire they have purchased and found to be reliable? I have an acre yard with a few hills but nothing severe. I've looked at Carlisle, Marastar to name a few. Also do most folks keep the same rims and take them all in at one time to a local tire garage to have them mounted or just buy new ones with rims? Is having the correct size shown above all I need in order to make sure its an exact fit for my tractor?

      Hi,
I just bought my first ever tractor - 1989 520H. One of the front tires has a slow leak, and they are both showing signs of age, so am looking at buying new. When I look at some of the options on the Miller site, they have 3 basic types of tires as options in the 16x6.50-8 size ..
circumferential ribs (either equal sized or central rib larger diameter) ag style chevron 'super lugs' turf tire - quadrilateral overlapping treads
What are the considerations for considering these different tire types ?
The current rear tires are turf type, no weights, but with chains.

I have 1.5 acres, quite hilly, and am using the tractor for some mowing, tilling, and garden plowing.

      Appreciate some perspective, suggestions.
      Regards.
