wheel horse ID

Good evening fellow horseman...

Trying to figure out what horse I have.

ID tag reads...01-14ks01. then small print...6683. bellow that is...0029.

Any and all help identifying this is greatly appreciated.

It's a 14hp, likely early 80's. Are you sure the s isn't an 8? Pictures would help a lot.:)

A 1978 model would begin with 81.

 

A 1979 model would begin with 91.

 

01 is the prefix for 1980, therefore your number 01 (1980) 14K (14 hp Kohler) S (Sundstrand) 01 (parts designation).

 

The next four numbers are the serial number, and the last four is the Julian date. 0029 Means is was built January 29, 1980.

 

Hope that clears it up.

We do not have and operator manual for the 1980 C-Series but there was a good service manual published in 1979. The style of hood and rear fender pan are about the only differences between 1979 and 1980. Click on the picture.
