I have a 417-A. Can I use any slot clevis hitch or are they different?

I believe you can. Let's see what the Jockey's say. Betting they agree.

 

Haven't used one in years but, welded flatbar to many implements to fit the slot hitch. :handgestures-thumbupright: 

 

Here's the slot hitch adaptor. the vendor has more.

Any Wheel Horse slot hitch will fit. It attaches to the 3/4" pin where the spacers are now for the draw bar.

Yes, they both fit like John said by removing the spacers.    There was a long debate some time back about the nomenclature of the two different style hitches.
