Beautiful work.  What do you run for weights in the back?  With the big blade and the actuator she must be nose heavy when you lift it.

In the rear I run Carlisle Tru Power 23x10.5-12 with 50 pound wheel weighs in each.

 

As far as the power angle, yes that is in the works! 

 

Unfortunately I have not modified the hood to be removable yet! In order to check the oil I have to unbolt the snow plow lift frame from the tractor frame.

1st, very nice! Excellent!  :handgestures-thumbupright:

2nd, might the rear bolts be a pin instead; i.e.: remove pin, fold mount forward down? Open Horse's hood?

I see you have rubber bumpers on the plow frame where it contacts the axle.     Does the actuator have adjustable limit switches?  If not, how do you limit the travel?

Have you considered a solid link instead of the chain for down pressure?

Worth a try. Might tilt the hood enough for an oil check.

Let us know how you make out.

Your rod collection reminds me of home, eastern Long Island south shore.

Front bolts might be clevis pins (?).

@Ed KennellGreat observation with the rubber bumpers, the actuator has built in limit switches for when the actuator if fully retracted or fully extended. I did add a limit switch for when I extend the actuator out because the actuator stroke is 6 inches and I only use probably 4-5 inches. The limit switch is set to stop the actuator just as the rubber bumpers touch the axle.

How heavy is that blade, materials wise?

Does Warn actually sell just the blade separate?

@Sarge I weighed the blade after I attached the springs and snow plow frame and it weighed about 110 pounds. Yes you can purchase the warn plow blade by itself, I purchased it off amazon. Hard to beat amazon especially with free shipping!

 

With a few bushing and spacers the warn plow blade fit perfectly to the original wheel horse snow plow frame.

That 54" blade may have to be an upgrade for one of my winter horses.  Pretty sure the Sundstrand will lift it.  May have to up engine the Charger 12.

I was mostly interested in it for an upgrade in width, but 14ga is a bit light for what I want. It would work great for snow or lighter dozer work though..

 

I want to make an adjustable wing design , but would prefer to start with the 54" as a platform to build from. Appreciate the part number,  still waiting for the new computer to show up and running off a mobile device is tough on the eyes.
