Carb Adjustments

Hey Men, Its Fred, Question, Having a Brain Fart due to Old Age & to much on the Brain ! As some of you know i Purchased that 417-8, i need a Fuel Pump yet & a New Battery this Friday coming. My Concern is i rebuilt the Carb, i backed both screws out a turn & a Half, is that the correct way or just 1 full turn ? How do you all do it. It would be best to download the Kohler manual from here to see carb adjustments.

 

Edit:  as you should also check float setting both level and drop

That's probably close enough for the women we go out with..... maybe a 'nother half turn out. Should get the motor running and tweak from there. I prefer to  turn out a little farther than book and find the sweet spots from there.

I thought so too Jim, Long day working on Mack Trucks, i do the same, turn out till it rumbles, turn in till smooths out
