Recommended Posts

I have a k301 with a 1 inch shaft for drive and clutch , motor is bad, I bought a short block k301 to replace it, it has a 1 1/8 shaft....shouldn't all k301s have the same shaft size.....

Actually I think that the 1 1/8" shaft is more common on the k301. Shaft size can very though, depending on what the customer ordered to fit their application.

It’s all about the spec number of the engine.

Kohler had numerous applications they were used in gravely, Jacobson, cadets, Deere’s, snow blowers, generators you name it and in the 60’s and 70’s Kohlers were king.

They still are king in my mind.........
