Opinions please. 1964 Lawn Ranger

Recommended Posts

The Gman

Lawn ranger came up for sale near enough to me. He wants 350 "firm". Comes with a deck. Would like to know what looks correct and what's not. Wheels? Engine? Lights? Decals? Don't know much about these little guys. The resto. looks good. He says it runs good and the deck is good. It's the only pic I have of it. Fuzzzzzzy at best I know.

Would appreciate feed back.

WHX??

As Tom said decals wrong and don't think the headlights are correct. $350 isn't terrible depending your location. I have seen correct restored  LRs go for twice that. I would say what the heck go look at it & kick tires as long as it's close. Bring back some better pics!

Something fishy about the steering wheel too???

I agree with the above.  Just know that a push lawnmower can cost you $400...you get to ride this one...plus you can find some attachments like a snow blade.  The does look pretty nice.  :occasion-xmas:

You'll love that little machine.  I think they are as much if not more fun to drive than their big brothers!!:auto-layrubber:

Let me introduce the newest member of the herd :D

Spent about two hours out there and had a nice chat with the fellow. He said he had about 40....... yes 40 garden tractors. Health was not good anymore and was selling them all off except for two 1960s colts (from the Case series). All that was left was the ranger and another colt. And........ once he knew I like wheel horse he told me he sold a senior some years ago. A guy saw it and offered him 1,000 for it. It was all there and running.

Anyway........ :woohoo:

I was told I would love it and yes........ I do. Do I sound excited yet?

Drove it around for 20 min. when I got home.

Not 100% original but don't care. How bout now....... excited?

I like the look of the bug eyed headlights. Right size for hood. And the Bullitt taillights too. Kinda reminds me of the early farm all and my 68 massey.

Some attention needed here and there. And the deck needs work but very solid.

Some Ags maybe?

Enough rambling..........

😎 🐾 🐾 🐾

So.... I just got home with this. I been wanting to fix one up for my 9 yr old nephew. I need to do it in a hurry as I will be going in hospitol soon for my 3rd battle with cancer. You know the story. Was told it ran about a month or so ago. Not running now. I just got home with it so I haven't checked it out yet. Have never owned a Lawn Ranger before, and know nothing about them. Maybe you guys can tell me what I have here and any advice would be helpful as well. Seems to be complete with the exception of the seat. Going to need to pick one up somewhere.

I have what I believe is a 1964 Lawn Ranger.
I'm wondering how rare they are and wondering what it is worth in the original condition it is in now.
May possibly restore it when I catch up on all my other projects.
      Thank you!
